Dear Dr. Alkaliby and staff, I have been under the care of an assortment of eye professionals for the past 73 years due to various visual problems including glaucoma and macular degeneration. Fortunately most of them were kind and competent. Unfortunately I lost the vision in one eye at the age of 6 and spent my remainder of my life very anxious about a potential life of total blindness after a diagnosis of MD about 16 years ago. My visit to Florida Retina Institute and Dr.Alkaliby yesterday was by far the best experience I’ve ever had in my lifetime! Everyone there was caring and efficient. The Institute runs like a well oiled machine not missing a beat. Dr.Alkaliby was so encouraging and proficient that I felt like I was talking to a family member instead of someone I just met. Dr Alkaliby is the best. I’ve had two other Doctors treat my eyes with injections before and it was painful. My eyes would take long to recover and sometimes eye infections. But, with Dr Alkaliby I don’t feel the injections and my eyes recover quickly.

Florida Retina Institute has provided terrific service over the past several months. My left eye had a retina bleed and the doctors and staff were terrific through the process and follow up. On Saturday I noticed that my right eye was experiencing issues and called Monday morning. I was placed on the schedule and saw Dr. Ahmed in St Augustine in just a few hours later. He was thorough in his exam and through testing identified three retinal tears. He and the staff discussed the issues and the proposed treatment. Within, 15 minutes he was repairing the tears using a laser and was successful. Kudos to him and the entire team for everything they did and have done over the past several months. I have NEVER experienced such a highly qualified and caring group of professionals as I have with this practice. I cannot say enough great things about them all. Brad Velie

I have been going to the Florida retina Institute for approximately two years. Overall, my experience has been fantastic. The doctors and the staff are wonderful, professional, knowledgeable, and truly care about their clients/patients. I’ve given this group of five star rating if I could give them more stars, I would they really listen to their patients!
