When a customer makes the effort to drive to your establishment and purchase from your business, they should at least be greeted or acknowledged when they walk in. Poor customer service starts with making customers feel invisible. No customer should have to stand there waiting for someone to say something. It takes only a few seconds to acknowledge someone, even a simple, "We'll be right with you" is enough to let a customer know they have been seen. What made the experience even more disappointing was that when I mentioned it to another staff member, they justified the behavior with excuses about employees working in different departments. Regardless of the department, everyone wears the same company name on their shirt and everyone has the ability to greet a customer. My first visit was amazing. I was welcomed immediately by a wonderful employee who was friendly, helpful, and made me feel valued. That positive experience is exactly why I returned the very next day expecting the same level of hospitality. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Consistency in customer service matters. Based on this experience, I'm not sure I'll be back.
Sooooo fresh and delicious!!! The crawfish recommendation was spot on. Mayport shrimp and yummy blue crab rounded out our seafood boil - very much worth the effort!
Friendly staff, fresh fish plus personalized services make this small market an absolute gem. They filleted our stripe bass for us. Next best thing to catching it yourself - actually better since I didn't have to do the dirty work! There were lots of apps, spices and so on as well!
Rude on the phone. Rude in the store. Kids laughing in the background. Can't speak up in the store. Nasty looks. These people act like they hate the world working here. Unpleasant 10000%. It is the same story every time I go in there for the past 4 years.
BUYERS BEWARE I am the granddaughter of a fisherman. And the sister of a fisherman also. So I know what good seafood is. For meat I really only eat seafood so I was searching for place to get fresh not frozen. My first impression when I walked into the store was hesitant. If you can smell the product and it smells fishy that means it's not fresh. I walked around to see what they had and finally got a very young man's attention when I was looking at this fish it's (a sheephead)one of my very favorite. I grew up on this fish I know it very well. This fish was beautiful! The fish was 6 1/2 lb, they will scale and filet it for free. I could do that but if they will do it as part of the transaction, heck yeah. As you can see what I got back was not six and a half pounds of fish it was barely two. Then I asked the young man where's the head, where is the spine, where is the tail. He looked at me like a deer in headlights and mumble something about the fish being so thick you couldn't cut that or couldn't cut this. It still didn't answer my question "Where's the rest of my fish.. ?" Being at fresh seafood markets, I've always had them ask do you want the head the tail the body because those are great parts you can use that stuff. I didn't fuss. I didn't fight. I knew this is my one and only time with them. This fish came up to a whopping $46. Does that look like $46 worth of fish to you? I couldn't feed two people with what I had let alone four. When I showed this picture to my friend who referred me there. She was incredulous! She says OMG. She said "I see them reserving the head tail and spine and selling that! " Which is probably what they did mine. Sure I could have pitched a fit. But why should I have to? I'm a first time customer. They showed me their hand. To me that means BUYER BEWARE!! My search continues. . .
