I’ve generally had very good experiences with Fidelity Investments over many decades so I was shocked over my latest interaction. My daughter tried to wire some money from her Fidelity account to a joint account we hold together. Initially the online transaction went fine. Then some AI process flagged it and my daughter had to call to prove it was intentional. It’s ironic that an AI required her to prove that she was human. Anyway, she jumped thru the hoops as mandated. 10 days later the transfer still had not gone thru. My question to Fidelity is this: do u understand the concept of an electronic wire transfer? We tried a similar transfer with Marcus Goldman and it went thru in hours! It would have been quicker and less stressful to mail a check than to use Fidelity.
My wife and got lucky enough to be put in touch with a investment representative Grayson Chase. What a stroke of good luck! We had a laundry list of questions about a rollover. He took the time to answer all of them! He's both personable and professional. We talked business and personal. Couldn't have been more an informative and stress free!! I wish all the people we had to deal with on the phone were like him. If you can ask for him, I advise you to do so. Highly recommended.
Tried to enroll in a Roth IRA, went through the process of adding all sensitive information for me to get to the “username/password” section and then it says to call customer service. Have been sitting for 30 minutes. I know you can’t be too busy at 9:20 PM. Would suggest using Schwab or Vanguard
