We first met Dr. Galan in April of 2024 when our daughter suddenly at age 16 started having seizures! Medications were not working to help the seizures. After researching, I found Dr. Galan and requested a referral despite living 4.5 hours away. Our first visit was so refreshing. Within minutes of being in his office, we had a diagnosis and was given a second med. Dr. Galan spent at least an hour with us explaining things to us verbally and even drew out pictures of how things in the brain work. He let us know that he felt certain she was a candidate for a right temporal lobectomy. He was very knowledgeable and put both my daughter and myself at ease. We were both in tears and so relieved that someone would finally listen to her and understand what she was dealing with. We were scheduled for a 5 day in Hospital study to gather information he and the surgeon needed for the surgery. By July of 2024, she was scheduled for surgery. There was no question left unanswered and we felt very confident going into surgery. Her surgery was 8 hours long, no complications and I am happy to report that she has been seizure free for a year and a half. She has been weaned off one medication and will begin weaning off her second medication at the two year post surgery mark. Dr Galan is the absolute best and well worth the 4.5 hour drive every visit. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Galan is an incredible physician—extremely knowledgeable and a true expert in his field. We have been so grateful for his kindness and the professionalism of his entire staff. Now that my son has aged out, we are moving on to adult care, but we will truly miss the exceptional level of care we received here. Highly recommend

Dr. Galan was great!!!!! The only regret is that we didn’t find him much sooner. He spent an hour with us, explaining epilepsy and how the different medications break down in the body. He took his time with us, to explain things to the fullest and that we understood everything. No doctor we have seen has explained things in great length to us. He is the only doctor that could tell us what kind of epilepsy our child has, that was shocking to me. Dr. Galan is very compassionate, listens to what you have to say, and explains things at your level. He was so great that we made the decision in front of him, to be our child’s neurologist going forward. If your child has epilepsy you will want this doctor on your side.

We were running late to an appt with Dr. Galan do to another appointment we had prior running late. We live 5 hrs away and Dr. Galan was very patient and waited for us well past the time of our appt and did not rush the appt once we got there. He has always listened to us and our concerns. He is extremely patient and knowledgeable.
