My wife came in for a crown re-cementating in February. The dental care itself was fine. The billing experience was not. Before the appointment I called to confirm they could work with our Solstice PPO plan. I was told they file Out of Network claims regularly and that a 50% copay applied, I even asked them to verify before scheduling - I paid the estimated amount at time of service based on that conversation. Six weeks later we received a text message with a payment link for a substantial additional sum — no explanation, no itemization, no context. That was followed by a paper bill for the same amount. The balance exists because, as Farnham well knows, Solstice's standard approved amounts came back at roughly 23 cents on the dollar of what Farnham billed — something an office that files OON Solstice claims regularly would absolutely know from prior experience. That disclaimer was never shared with us. We had two in-network appointments already scheduled that same day that we cancelled to come here based on assurances we received. When disputed, the response was to cite a consent form signed at the appointment - after the scheduling conversation that brought us there in the first place. The dental care was competent. The financial transparency was not, and other OON patients should know that before choosing this practice. If they won't notify patients, I will.
