After four years of searching, I have found my primary pizza purveyor in Jacksonville: Emangeo's! I grew up in Connecticut and was raised on Sally's, Modern, and Zuppardi's. And while I love Jacksonville, it has been difficult to find decent pizza. The owners of Emangeo's are from Connecticut and it shows. The pizza is delicious: superb and flavorful crust, a bright tomato forward sauce, and a good balance of cheese. The bottom of the crust shows the high heat of their oven, though not as crisp or charred as is typical in New Haven. The pizza was absolutely delicious, and the vibe was also wonderful. The owners take great pride in their food and were genuinely pleased to hear that I enjoyed it. And for those in the know, they sell the full line of Foxon Park sodas. A ten-out-of-ten!
First time trying and it was amazing! Got a half cheese half pepperoni New Haven style pizza and I was impressed. Also tried the garlic cheese loaf and it was unbelievably soft and tasty. Atmosphere is very laid back and it’s nice looking at all the wall art. Owner stopped by the table and was very friendly as well. Definitely coming back! (I’m 6 months pregnant and the baby also approves)
Great pizza that’s different from the usual chain stores! My husband and I tried the pepper jack New Haven and the kids got a pepperoni NY. Both pizzas were great and the New Haven was cooked perfect with tasty charred edges. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is extremely clean with a good atmosphere. We’ll be back!
Being from the New Haven area for the first 37 years on this spinning sphere, I think I know a good New Haven style pizza. Now in Florida the last 24 years I’ve yet to find something like the old Connecticut days. Well , I think I may have found it, ordered the chicken and bacon Florentine New Haven style and it didn’t disappoint, crispy and delicious. Garlic knots were solid as well. Now if they only had a White Broccoli Rabe pie…
For single dining or a huge group of people Emangeo's Brick Oven Pizza is the perfect place with something available for everyone! This time I got the fettuccine Alfredo, a Greek salad and tiramisu. Everything was very delicious. On-top of the spectacular food, the service & staff were kind and helpful! I would definitely put this in my restaurant rotation and will be coming back with family and friends!! Be sure to check this place out!!
