My therapist, Angela McNeff, has been a huge part of my healing journey and I am so grateful for her in my life. I always look forward to our sessions; she is kind, a wonderful listener, and provides useful feedback on how to move through complex emotions and build confidence in myself. She makes me feel seen and heard, without judgement, as I try to make sense of life and this chaotic world. Her endless knowledge and useful action items empower me to face my demons with my head held a little higher. She has been highly supportive of my creative endeavors and ambitions while keeping me grounded and encouraging me to find a healthy balance. I came out of a highly traumatic experience, and I believe that working with Angela was a perfect next step in working through my past and figuring out who I now am.
Doctor
Having been in therapy since 2003 and having my personal experiences with both good and bad of mental health Drs I am happy to report that Dr. Delia Toledo is an inspiration. She is the rare Dr that listens intently to her patients. She genuinely cares about the overall wellbeing of her patients. She takes what ever time necessary at your appointments to address whatever issues you are currently having. I have never been treated like a med check only appointment! She redid my evaluation and found that I had been misdiagnosed for over 21 years by my previous Dra! It wasn’t until I went to Dr Toledo that I began to truly heal and am happy to report that for the 1st time ever in my 52 years on this earth that I on the LOWEST dose of the correct medication. I want to add that when I 1st started coming to Dr. Toledo I was homeless ( no longer homeless) and really struggling with my CPTSD ( that I didn’t know I had!). She has always treated me with kindness and respect, so much so that she inspired me to go back to College and pursue my BA in sociology so that I can help other. If you’re reading this, do yourself a favor and check her out for yourself. I promise you, you won’t regret it🥰.
Dr. Toledo has been incredible in helping me stabilize my mood and finally understand what was going on after years of not having answers. She took the time to properly diagnose something I had no idea I was dealing with, which has made a huge difference in my life. One thing I truly appreciate is how careful she is with medication. She makes sure I’m not over-medicated and checks in with me monthly to make sure I’m still stable, happy, and functioning well. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about her patients and takes a thoughtful, knowledgeable approach to treatment. If you’ve had bad experiences in the past or are looking for a psychiatrist who truly knows her stuff and takes great care of her patients, I highly recommend Dr. Toledo.
Despite the purpose of this business being to assist in bettering your mental health, in just 1 month of meeting with their service providers my life has been made far worse. After insurance, I've spent $900 in a month on a handful of appointments which were basic questions that did not progress me towards any goals. Some of the bills I've received were for services NOT RENDERED which I look forward to understanding why when I call the office. If you choose to self pay and not use insurance, the total cost is far lower which shows how much of a racket this office is running and yet another example of what keeps our health insurance premiums so high. Additionally, the therapist I met with was supposed to send me worksheets for me to work on in between meetings. They were never received and in the follow up meeting the mistake was shrugged off. I also met with a psychiatrist who clearly had zero interest in helping me and literally told me to pick which medication I wanted for anxiety. These are supposed to be collaborative conversations and while I understand this is a process that takes time, normal people can't afford to waste money on appointments with providers who are not qualified for their job. Especially when the front office is shaking you down for as much as they can get. I am sure some of their providers are great and care about their patients but I did not get that luxury. Any prospective patients please do yourself a favor and find a respectable office to work with.
Please be aware that this clinic enforces strict $40 late/no-show fees, and although one fee was waived in my case, my treatment remains delayed because the office manager refused to waive a second fee tied to the first. She cited the policy agreement I signed - an agreement that I found to be unilateral and unfavorable to patients. During our conversation, I explained that I am recovering from a car accident, trying to manage rent, and need ongoing psychiatric treatment. I even offered to proceed through a Letter of Protection with my attorney. In response, the office manager told me that my financial situation was “not my concern,” that my arrangement with my attorney was irrelevant, and that treatment would not continue until I paid the remaining $40. Though I’m grateful that one fee was waived, my review remains 1 star because of the office manager’s handling of this situation and the fact that my treatment is still blocked by a fee.
