Great local surf shop with a real Fernandina Beach feel. Driftwood has a solid selection of surf gear, beachwear, boards, and accessories, but the best part is the people. Everyone there is friendly, helpful, and easy to talk to without making it feel like some corporate retail place. You can tell they actually know and care about surfing and the local beach community. Cool shop, good vibe, and definitely one of those places that makes Main Beach feel like Main Beach.
Driftwood is one of those places that actually feels like part of Fernandina, not just another beach shop selling the same tourist stuff. It’s right by Main Beach, the shop has been around forever, and you can feel that local surf shop energy when you walk in. The people there are the main reason I’m writing this. They’re easy to talk to, helpful without being pushy, and they don’t give you that fake sales routine. Whether you’re looking at boards, gear, clothes, sunglasses, or just stopping in before or after the beach, it feels relaxed and real. Cool shop, good people, good location, and the kind of local business that makes Fernandina Beach better.
Hands down one of the best shops on the island! Steve and his crew are always so positive, upbeat and kind. They make you feel welcome whether you are shopping for clothes, renting a board, or asking about a surf lesson. Whether you are a beginner or have been paddling out for years they make you feel just as important and truly want to share their love of surfing with you and support your journey. And their selection is absolutely unbelievable! From supporting locals by selling their amazing creations, to shop shirts, to high end brands like Vuori they truly have something for everyone. And they aren't just a surf shop but have quite the lineup of skateboards too. They even have jewelry and haircare! Driftwood truly is your one stop shop and by shopping there you are supporting some truly amazing people who are passionate about what they do and are great members and supporters of the community.
Great and friendly staff! Clean and well organized store. A WIDE variety of swimwear, sandals, and eyewear. Must stop here!
Wow what a wonderful experience! I strolled across this surf shop in curiosity for some Birkenstocks and ended up with three other things. The customer service was so supportive and kind. I was given different apparel to try on once the employee understood what I was looking for! Thank you for the beautiful dress Driftwood, I am so excited to wear it!!
