Dr. James Perry, DO

Dr. Perry answered all of my questions and did not rush through the visit. I was very comfortable with his assessment of my situation and options for treatment. I left with a good understanding of the plan going forward.

Overall, I left feeling disappointed. I’ve been struggling with a bulging disc for over two years and have seen Dr. Perry several times. Because I’m young, I often felt like my concerns were dismissed rather than fully explored. I have severe sciatica, but because my MRI looked objectively “good,” I felt that my symptoms were downplayed. In particular, I was disappointed that my annular tear wasn’t discussed in more depth. Based on my symptoms and my own research, I believe it may be a significant contributor to my pain, including what has been described as chemical sciatica. While I understand there can be differences in medical opinions, I was hoping for a more thorough discussion about why my symptoms are so severe despite relatively mild imaging findings. I left feeling like my pain wasn’t fully acknowledged and that I didn’t receive the level of investigation or explanation I was looking for.

First visit today with Dr. Perry. I found him to be friendly and a good listener to someone with a lot to discuss about my chronic spinal issues, treatment history and imaging. He was well versed in my MRI results and documented history prior to entering the examination room.

My appointment with Dr Perry was a pleasure, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Dr Perry took time to explain my X rays and ask questions. I was very pleased with how he went over what my plan was moving forward to address my back pain . I would definitely recommend Dr Perry and JOI to anyone needing orthopedic healthcare.
