I used to see the Nurse Practitioner Carmen Riza regularly for various needs to include my annual wellness checks, blood work, Pap smears and preventative needs. She was extremely kind and gentle. I had an appt with Dr Young only one time briefly and I had a good experience. Also if you've ever wanted to try certain medications whether weight loss or other concerns u may have they're very open minded to hearing you out and if safe and appropriate they will let you try but closely monitor you unlike those type of doctors that are anti-med and immediately shut you down. To be honest, I think this office is fantastic for a wide range of routine general visits/tests/basic issues but perhaps not with chronic in depth illnesses.
If you want a social experiment, schedule a visit without using insurance (that's right, try paying out of pocket willingly) and see how satisfied you are with your treatment. I wasn't given any check in paperwork to fill out, my ID was never asked for, the only thing asked for was my date is birth and name. After waiting 45 minutes past my appointment time, I saw the doctor. My complaint was for chest congestion and pressure in my ears. After saying he was going to schedule an X-ray, he checked the chart and saw I was cash only. From there, he cancelled the X-ray, ordered a breathing treatment (at an extra cost) and said would prescribe antibiotics and ear drops. He almost forgot to check my ears before he left, to which he said they were "red as hell". Checking out, my id was again never asked for, and my medication would have been forgotten had I not asked about it directly. I confirmed my pharmacy and returned home to wait. After 5 hours, and checking with the pharmacy, they never received my order. I returned to the office in person after being directed to a voicemail, only to be told that they'll tell them in the back to "send it again". It has now been 8 hours since my visit and the pharmacy still has not received the order. I will be moving any future medical needs to a different office as well as disputing these charges with my bank.
If I could give less than 1 star, I would give them negative 5 stars. These folks must have been the C & D students in school. Most of the clientele look like pill heads.. Daughter came down with walking pneumonia & being treated by her pediatrician. I stayed home with her for 2 weeks, then I got sick and Dr Young looked at me and said I think you have the flu even though I literally never left my house during the time my daughter was sick, who tested negative 3 times with her Dr. They do not do or have flu rapid tests here and he refused to even consider that I had caught pneumonia from my daughter or treat me for it. That was the last straw. 3 times in a row I was misdiagnosed by either Dr Young or the lady Dr that works there. QUACKS!!!!!!!!
Great doctor and great PA but if you want anything done you have to stay on top, checking and making sure that what you were promised. ***UPDATE **** I must say that after getting back with Tara at this office she really went the extra mile and I didn't had to go back to the office! I really appreciate the follow up!
Dr. Young has gone above and beyond for me. Not only is he my primary care physician, but helped a neck problem with physical therapy exercises. They also except BCBS which is my insurance carrier. 5⭐️
