Dr. Johnson is absolutely the best! Very kind, compassion, caring and knowledgeable. He takes his time and he does not rush you at all. His assistant Amanda is fantastic. She never is in a hurry and answers all you questions you have.
Very caring and understanding Dr. I must say that I can speak with him about ANYTHING!! Dr Johnson has been there for me through everything he possible could, while staying with in the Medical Guidelines. My husband & I appreciate Dr Johnson more than words can say! His STAFF, is probably the BEST EVER, !!!
Dr. Johnson is the best! He's a great listener and I see him watching me carefully the whole time I'm there in order to make a thorough diagnosis. His treatment plans for my changing health needs have been complete and accurate. Dr. Johnson is keenly interested in my health and prescribes whatever is necessary for me to maintain and sustain good health and relieve any pain and suffering I may experience. I am always delighted to see him because he even thinks of things I hadn't even considered to help me feel better! I love him!
These reviews have to be fake. Here is my experience, 5 minutes ago... Also attached are my phone logs since I am sure the staff will attempt to save face in the response to this review. 1) Called the doc to schedule an appointment, was put on hold by the receptionist. After 5:00 of hold music, I gave up and called back. 2) But this time, I bypassed the "front desk" and chose one of the two assistants the doctor has ...straight to voicemail. So I left a message this time. Asked for a dermatologist referral. 3) Received a text message and told that they cannot give me a blind referral. Ok, I get that, but how about answering the phone? 4) Close to giving up, I called a third time, basically just incredibly frustrated with the medical system in general because I LOVED my doctor (Dr. Jose Tamayo) but FL Blue is so bad, Dr. Tamayo had to bail. 5) This time the front desk woman. She was not very kind at all. Belittling me for thinking that I was a patient of Dr. Johnson when I had yet to be treated by him. How was I supposed to know? According to my insurance, and their website and app, he's my primary care. 6) I explained that I have an odd growth on my scalp and I fear it could be cancerous and would like to get it checked out ASAP. 7) She asked me if I could come in October 16 (or something like that) and I said, "October? It's August..." 8) Dumbfounded, I said no thanks, I'll pay for Dr. Tamayo out of pocket. And I hung up. 9) My partner was not happy and encouraged me to call back. I did. I again connected with the "pleasant" receptionist. I explained that my partner encouraged me to call back because we are really concerned my growth could be cancerous. She said, "Let me get this other line..." And a few minutes later, 4:00 hit, and I was instantly sent to some random person's voicemail. By this time, I was furious, and I let unknown person know how frustrated I was after all of these shenanigans. It's no secret the medical system has turned into a complete joke. Literally, this is the sentiment from everyone I know, and a popular sentiment all over the Internet. The insurance companies have failed us in the name of profits and the doctors are not brilliant medicine men and women, they are business people. FL Blue has been the worst insurance company I have ever experienced. Even my doctor shared the same sentiment. But he's right, and I now understand why he didn't want to participate in some of the plans. I will pay him out of pocket and just buy catastrophic coverage. Dr. Johnson, I don't know you, but how you can staff someone like the receptionist we experienced today only says one of two things, "good help is hard to find," or that you simply don't care what the first experience is for new potential patients. People who treat other people this way are cold and calloused and do not belong dealing with patients. Bed-side manner (for lack of better term) still matters. Look at my phone logs. Tell me that's the experience expectation people should have when trying to get a simple referral. Take a long, hard look and evaluate your receptionist and ask if she is the one who should represent your office, your brand... I told her that I fear I might have cancer. She lied to me, and then sent me to voicemail. That's...well, you decide what to call that...
Dr. David Johnson is an outstanding doctor. He has the most compassion of any doctor I’ve seen in the past. He takes care of my entire family and he does an excellent job. He makes us feel like we are on an executive VIP program. He’s responsive, kind, down to earth, and takes a lot of time to see you. You will never feel rushed here. I’ve been with Dr. Johnson for over 13 years and there’s no one I’d rather see for my medical care. He is my forever doctor. Also, a shoutout to his office assistants! Avalisa and Amanda go the extra mile to make sure you’re taken care of when questions or prescription requests arise outside of your appointment. They are both such assets to Dr. Johnson and North Florida Medical Clinic. My family will never go anywhere else!
