Do yourself a favor and listen to the bad reviews. I understand not everyone has an option to choose who they’re referred to, myself included, but if I could do it all over again- I simply wouldn’t. Be prepared to wait an hour and a half past your appointment time (every single time, not one or two appointments but all of them) for Dr. Abassi to come in and tell you something you already knew for 5 minutes and have you do even more “tests” with zero solutions. Not to mention, they’ll wait until you come in for your next appointment to tell you that you have a balance despite paying everything they originally told you to. During my actual procedure, I didn’t go back until 2 hours after my appointment time, woke up with a busted lip and my eye was watering, my face was completely red on one side- No explanation, the nurse said “that’s odd” and I had to ask for a tissue myself. Save your time and money. I wish I would’ve.
DON'T GO TO THIS PRACTICE!!! I had a appointment today for follow-up of my endoscopy. Well, I had an outstanding balance that I should have been notified o f this the first time I saw the d tf for c my infddoctor. Well, the Riverside location along with the Memorial hospital location is full of nothing but rude, nasty, and will not let you get a word in edgewise. I left the practice back in 2024 because when I was in the hospital the nurse practitioner of Digestive disease consultants
I’m adding to this review and moving my 5 star to a 3 star. I went in for my 4 week follow up appointment after two previous procedures. I checked in at 3:35pm for my 4:00pm appointment. I wasn’t taken to a room until 5:15pm. The doctor came in at 5:34pm and I was back in my car by 5:45pm. It was a complete waste of my time and the issues I’m having aren’t resolved. My experience started out great as previously stated but this past appointment was ridiculous. I have had an amazing experience so far as I'm still on my health journey. They have always been prompt with my appointment time. I've also had a colonoscopy and endoscopy here and everything went perfect. They were super nice and explained everything really well.
They are always balance billing....even after I paid, the insurance paid, yet still wanted more $$$. The staff doing procedures were amazing, Shame front office ruins it
Melisa Hatkic, APRN Gastroenterology -Digestive Health in Jacksonville, FL is the most unprofessional. Discriminatory for sexual orientation calling the Dr who caused me PTSD for denying me care for being gay a "good doctor" sending me home after vomiting blood when needed endoscopy lied and told my hemoglobin was fine on the 9th to the other doctors. She had a smirk on her face. When I did not let her gaslight me she threw a huge fit like a toddler. She will not lie on my name and the conditions I have. This company just put anxiety on discharge papers. I came in for vomiting blood severe pain auto-Immune chronic pancreatitis. And also I was in lactic acidosis with my blood work falling. She is the most nasty person I ever met and that is putting it nicely after the way I treated she caused me PTSD for life she has 0 empathy and acts like she knows everything. She is not even a real Docotor she is an NP! For a Gastroenterology consultation opinion?! For Endoscopy. She is discrimatory for medicaid and sexual orientation. She looks down upon minorities. This is my voice and since you refuse to hear the truth of how you act to people you will hear it and elsewhere. This is not okay at all and you should not be putting people's lives at risk. Because the first time you caused be to have high white blood count at the other hospital and high netrophil because you care more about money than you do a patient. Or at least a patient who is not like you. I hope your license gets revoked for the pain and suffering I went through. You did not care AT ALL. First oath is to do no harm and that is EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID. You need to reflect and quit blaming rational patients and getting them all upset then blaming the small shocked traumatized reaction. Over your narcissistic attitude.
