Absolutely delicious! I had the chicken cutlet parm and it was so good. The bread was amazing and shipped in from New York, which definitely makes a difference. Being from Brooklyn myself, it honestly felt like a little taste of home. The owner was so friendly and welcoming, and the entire staff was great. Great food, great people, and that true New York deli feel. We will definitely be back.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hal’s Deli is a must-visit! Fresh, made-to-order sandwiches with truly delicious, crispy bread—every bite is packed with that classic New York deli flavor. It genuinely feels like someone brought the heart of New York deli right to Florida. The service is fantastic and you can tell they care. From the moment you walk in, it feels like family. Do yourself a favor and stop by—you won’t be disappointed!
I tried their eggplant parm sandwich on a hoagie. Bread was fresh and crispy. Sauce is homemade and delicious. Cheese was delicious and melty. All of the staff was super friendly. We even took a mini cannoli to go (they fill them fresh, each order) - another delicious item.
I really want to like this place but the time it takes to compile a sandwich around 45 mins for two sandwiches and the missing components of my sandwich, this is the second time makes it hard. Granted, the first time was early in the opening stages, so you have to give a little grace at that point and I was in house and they remade the sandwich right there. But today I ordered online and it’s still took close to 40 mins to make my sandwiches only to have The balsamic glaze missing for my Genovese hero. I know, it sounds petty, but when I’m looking at a sandwich that I want to eat, I’m looking at it because of all the components that are in the sandwich, so when it’s not on my sandwich, I tend to get a little irritated. Here’s another thing I noticed when you’re looking at prices it doesn’t include the cost of a wrap, roll or a hero? When you see 1440+ it’s because they’re charging you for the actual bread which is unusual if they’re coming from New York. The price you see is the price you’re gonna get regardless of what vehicle you put your food on. I thought that was odd. Also, if they’re from New York, I’m not sure if they’re from upstate where they move a little slower, but I can’t imagine them being from Long Island or one of the 5 boroughs because they roll food out like nobody’s business. You’re not waiting 45 minutes to get a sandwich I don’t care how many people are in that place. On a positive note, the bread is definitely on point. I’m pretty sure it’s shipped in from elsewhere because it taste like a New York bakery, kind of bread. I did call and let them know about my issue and the gentleman that answered the phone was very polite To talk to the manager, but I told him he can relay the message cause there’s really nothing further to talk about. If I’m in the area, most likely still go there, but I’m gonna check my food every time and you should as well to make sure all the components of your sandwich are put on there especially if you’re paying for it.
Thank you so much for finally making a top quality Italian hero that I have been missing for years down here in Florida! It was well worth the 1 Hour Drive from Palm Coast and I will be making it many more times! The spicy Italian hero is perfectly prepared with great bread and the perfect ratio of meats to bread. We highly recommend this great Italian deli!
