I would strongly advise anyone going through a custody or divorce case to steer clear of Dr. Blackmon. From day one, he was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional in every interaction I had with him. It was very clear that he was biased against me from the start, and the final report he submitted was filled with false, misleading, and one-sided information that did not reflect the reality of the situation. Even more concerning is that Dr. Blackmon has a known affiliation with the same company or organization as my ex, which is a clear conflict of interest. This should have disqualified him from handling the case in the first place, yet nothing was done about it. His involvement compromised the integrity of the entire psychological evaluation process. His behavior and the report he submitted had a serious impact on my case, and I believe he played a major role in steering things unfairly in her favor. If you’re looking for a fair, ethical, and unbiased evaluator, look elsewhere. Dr. Blackmon is not someone I would trust to make such critical judgments that affect people’s lives and their children’s futures.
I would not recommend Dr. Blackmon. Use another psychologist to have testing done. I went to him to have my daughter tested for ADD. His website looked like his fees were cheaper that other practices. Pay the extra money and go somewhere else- it ends up being more than expected anyway. He came across as judgmental and even made me feel ashamed at times of how my daughter acted during the sessions. This is added to the time it has taken to schedule the appointments. Plus I still don't have the report as promised.
I often think about how much Dr. Blackmon had helped me to get to where I am today in my education. 3 years ago I was trying to get into grad school but was struggling completing timed exams because I have a learning disability. I was referred to Dr. Blackmon for an evaluation and he confirmed my diagnosis. Dr. Blackmon evaluated my cognitive learning skills over 4-5 sessions (the sessions consisted of tests and measures that were actually very fun for me to participate in). I truly enjoyed my evaluation visits with Dr. Blackmon. He was patient, understanding and caring towards my situation. After seeking out Dr. Blackmons services, I received the accommodations I needed and I successfully took the GRE and was accepted into a doctorate of physical therapy program, where I have been the last two and a half years :) EVERY TIME I take an exam I think of how grateful I am to have the accommodations that Dr. Blackmon helped me to get. Thank you Dr. Blackmon for helping me to receive the care I needed and achieve my goals!
We originally starting seeing Dr. Blackmon for my oldest son and then decided to add myself and my hubby in as well. We were extremely happy and will suggested him to anyone looking for a doctor.
It is hard to put into words the gratitude for a doctor who goes above and beyond to do all he can for his patients. Dr Blackmon has helped members of all ages in my family. He identifies problems and solutions and has given a voice and hope to those individuals who have trouble defending themselves. I highly recommend Dr Blackmon
