Such a wonderful place to stay. We go every year. Very family friendly, great beach, soft sand.
We had a great stay at Crescent Sandpiper 11-21/28 2022. Unit 113 was exactly as promised with clean accommodations, working amenities in all areas (TV, A/C, kitchen appliances) and a quiet environment. Yes, the facilities were constructed in the 70s so there is a small retro vibe, but it has been maintained extremely well. The pool area is wonderful and the grounds are well manicured. The office administrators were there to answer questions as well. It wasn't "The Ritz" but we weren't looking for super brand new and overpriced. It checked every box for a quality stay for us. Sorry i don't have better pictures to share. We would certainly return sometime if coming through the area.
We stayed in room 212 this time. Master bedroom has a great view of the beach. Right by the stairs so it is very convenient. The room was great & the complex is very well kept. I cannot say enough good things about Anna & Rikki with Latitude 30 rental company that helped us book our stay. (They also run the office at Sandpiper) You’ll regret it if you don’t book through them. The communication & professionalism is above and beyond. They have taken such good care of our family.
My family and I have been coming here for over 30 years. Quiet and peaceful with breath taking views and easy access to the beach. Within driving distance to downtown St. Augustine for great restaurants and shopping. This is our go-to spot for a restorative family vacation!
We stayed in Crescent Sandpiper 108 this past week for the week of the 4th. It was by far the most disgusting place we have ever stayed. The air intake vent and all of the baseboards were coated with a very thick coat of dust, dirt, and hair. The walls were covered in dirt and grime. There was a used sponge in the sink covered in food. The countertop in the kitchen was coated with what we can assume was grease or oil. There was food dried on the wall behind the trash can. The bathroom counters and sinks had toothpaste residue on them. The comforters in the second bedroom were stained. We called the number provided immediately upon arrival to have the condo recleaned, as instructed by the welcome email. The cleaning service apologized and said they were too busy during peak season to ensure all of the condos were properly cleaned and that mistakes happen. They offered to come back the next day and reclean. Apparently a cleaner came the next day during our toddlers nap while myself and my toddler were asleep in the master bedroom. She says she cleaned every room besides the master, but I find this hard to believe as nothing was different or cleaner and I did not wake up during the time she was there (I am a very light sleeper). The air conditioner thermostat was locked to not be able to be set below 70 degrees. As it was middle of summer in Florida, you can imagine how hot we were all week. I called management to complain about the above issues. I explained this wasn’t the kind of dirty that happened during one week and this condo had been neglected for a while with the amount of dirt and dust built up. I was then told there was nothing they could do about the air conditioner and that we “should not expect a deep clean during peak season.” This was infuriating as we were paying peak season pricing and we also paid a very, very hefty cleaning fee that’s included and non-negotiable when renting the condo. Management let us know someone from the sandpiper condos is supposed to inspect every condo after cleaning before the next guest comes and they would let them know to be more mindful when checking rooms, but nothing could be done for us during our stay. We still had 5 days left of our 7 day stay at this point. I ended up going to Walmart and buying cleaning supplies to clean myself as we could not stand to stay in the conditions we were left with for the rest of the week. We have stayed in St Augustine for years for the week of the 4th and have never experienced such a disgusting place. Management was horrible and extremely unprofessional. Being told we shouldn’t expect a clean condo due to it being a busy time of year is mind boggling. I highly encourage anyone considering staying here to try the Coquina or Sanddollar condos on either side of the Crescent Sandpiper. Terrible experience, terrible management.
