This neighborhood park has become my go-to spot for daily morning workouts. Getting there is a pleasure, as the riverwalk offers great views and a cooling breeze. The location is surprisingly heat-resistant; between the shade provided by the bridge and the morning shadow cast by the CSX building, it stays comfortable even on the hottest days. The park features an excellent, free outdoor gym that includes: Dumbbells and jump boxes Pull-up and dip bars Incline benches and balance bars Dedicated areas for fitness bands and pushup handles The convenience is rounded out by a filtered water fountain with a bottle filler. It’s a fantastic facility for the community.
This is our downtown Jacksonville. One of my favorite places to visit. I usually work out at the Ymca which is located just to the right of here. Afterwards my son and I will walk over the bridge and down thru the river.. nice views and peaceful. I love how they decided to help others to get a quick workout in. Somethings I don't like is the smell in the area and many of our homeless hang out in the area. I wish we had a better place for them to go.. other than that, I recommend this area for a good work out. No cost, all ages welcome.
The corkscrew park located under the Acosta bridge, is a link of the miles long north bank river walk in downtown Jacksonville. The popular trail is part of a ribbon park walks on the north and south shore of the Saint Johns River.
Not much here, just some restrooms and workout equipment. It's a nice connector between downtown and Brooklyn on the Northbank riverwalk.
I only give one star because access to access to the park is currently cut off due to downtown construction. I couldn't see any of the art installations, so I don't even know if they're still there. 03/18/26
