Please, LEARN from my mistake so you are not caught in a similar situation like mine, or worse. The first Red Flag should have been when I called the telephone number listed on the sign where said business is located, I was greeted with "What do you want?". I thought maybe I called the wrong number, but I introduced myself and said I got your number on your sign and was interested in doing my taxes. I still had to ask, "And whom am I speaking to?"-Red Flag #2. When I met, rhymes with Ting, at her office, she looked into my eyes and said, "You came to me, I am the professional"-Red Flag #3. I said you are correct and chose to proceed anyways because at this point, I just want closure. When I got home, I reviewed the paperwork and discovered that Ting misspelled my wife's name incorrectly. I know things can happen, but the fact that my wife passed away a year prior and I had a copy of the DEATH CERTIFICATE placed on Ting's desk - that she never once looked at, was completely DISGRACEFUL. On top of it, Ting did not list my address correctly so I could not locate my records in the IRS system (Ting did not forward a "receipt of taxes" and later I had to request for my records). I immediately notified Ting of the issues and she said she would resolve it...a week later. That is correct. Ting informed me when she went to resubmit with the corrections, that the IRS already accepted the old return (A WEEK LATER). I went to request an updated, physical copy, to replace the error ridden initial submission and Ting was very adamant that she could email me one. When I went to pick up the physical copy, the office reeked of weeks old garbage. I thought and I shared, "how could you sit in this smell?" Being a former GM of a hotel, it's been a while since I had to share my experience, in a negative manner. But, again, the data I present to you is not a perspective, but supported with evidence (hard copies). Do yourself a favor and save the headache, save the stress, save the lack of professionalism for something else - you do not need to waste it here.
