My wife had been wanting to try this place after visiting neighboring favorites like Angie’s Subs, Mojo BBQ, and Abstrakt Filipino Essence. We finally had the chance and it did not disappoint. My wife ordered the Tawook Platter and I went with the Kofta Platter. I mentioned that I wanted to try the baba ganoush and the owner generously gave me a side on the house which was a very nice touch. We definitely enjoyed our meal. The fattoush and tabouleh salads complemented our meals perfectly. The hospitality and quality of the food made for a great dining experience.
My boyfriend is from Beirut and he said this place tasted like home. The owner was so kind and shared his dishes with us on the house because they are from the same part of downtown. Here, you can taste the best falafel in town (truly, the other “Lebanese” places in Jax are run by other ethnicities… no problem, but just different taste) — I had the amazingly fresh Fattoush salad (parsley, tomatoes, cucumbers) and my bf the Shish Tawook sandwich. My bf usually only orders one thing: Chicken Shawarma. Trust me me when I say the Tawook is now his fav shawarma in all of Jacksonville (we’ve tried them ALL). Listen to the owner’s story… he will tell you he once catered food for the Big Bang Theory cast ❗️ There is a fat calico cat they feed outside and she was so cute. Reminded me of the Middle East. Wallah all you need to know 💖
We were in Jax visiting family and this Mediterranean restaurant was great choice! Fresh vegetables and meat is incredibly succulent and tender. The mix of spices and that perfect char is just unmatched. Chef was very nice and offered us some free appetizers. Will come back when we visit Florida again!
I ordered a Kafta kabob platter and OMG it's so good. Every component was well made and balances each other. Service was good and one of the workers even opened the door when I was about to exit carrying my daughter. Highly recommend!!!!
Excellent freshly made, flavorful food. The owners are great hosts and are extremely friendly. Tried their med sampler and falafel sandwich. Med sampler was very filling by itself. Their freshly made dessert is super delicious. We’re going back soon.
