⭐☆☆☆☆ My experience with Carrington Mortgage Services has been extremely disappointing. After my mortgage transferred from Veterans United, Carrington processed four scheduled mortgage payments when only two should have been authorized. Three payments were withdrawn from my bank account on June 3, June 10, and June 15 before I caught the mistake. I contacted them on June 22 and was able to stop the fourth payment, but getting my money back has been a completely different story. Over the past several weeks, I've made numerous phone calls and spoken with multiple employees, including supervisors Grace and Hector and a specialist named Herman. Every time I called, I was told the issue was being worked on, but nothing actually happened. On July 10, after weeks of waiting, I was finally told they needed my bank statements before they could process the refund. This was the first time anyone mentioned that documentation was required. Had someone told me this from the beginning, I would have provided it immediately. **As of today, I am still waiting for my refund.** My money has been tied up for weeks because of Carrington's error, and I've had to spend countless hours following up just to get basic updates. Mistakes can happen, but how a company responds is what defines its customer service. Unfortunately, my experience has been one of poor communication, inconsistent information, unnecessary delays, and a complete lack of urgency in resolving an issue that Carrington created. I hope the company improves its internal processes so other customers don't have to go through the same experience.
I would give them zero Stars if I could. My mother had a reverse mortgage with them and as soon as she passed away, they went to work to take this property from my siblings and I. They gave us 3 months to provide documents to them regarding her passing and in less than a month they started foreclosure proceedings. This was all a plot to take our mother's Legacy from us. I would recommend to never do business with this company!
Caitlin has been absolutely amazing throughout this entire process. She is professional, knowledgeable, and responsive, but also down-to-earth and easy to talk to. She never made me feel like "just another client," and that meant a lot during such a stressful process. She has gone above and beyond from day one. She genuinely cares about people, not just numbers. I would recommend Caitlin to anyone looking to purchase a home. Having someone knowledgeable is important, but having someone who also treats you like a human being makes all the difference.
Working with Carrington in general and Warren Rinaman specifically was a pleasant and productive experience.Ultimate professional. All emails and calls returned within 12 hours and a significant returned immediately! Clear directions on what needed to be done next. Follow up contacts on all information that had to be submitted. Way above expected customer service!
Andre Peek reached out to my husband about refinancing our loan. While interested, I had several questions about the process, paperwork, and associated tradeoffs. My questions were extremely lengthy and required thorough explanations, as I wanted to make sure this option was the best option for us. Every email I sent included at least 3 detailed questions. Andre answered each intentionally with language that was easy to understand, educating us on the process while also ensuring us that we will still have a choice until the process is complete. How empowering! I can tell that he is extremely knowledgeable and cares about the work he does. It's rare that you receive that level of service, so thanks to Andre for delivering a client experience that is both legendary and unforgettable!
