I don't think I have the right words to describe our exceptional experience at CareVet. We were in crisis with our senior golden retriever. We went to our normal vet the day before and the service was "much less" than exceptional ever since it was sold and now corporately owned. It was no longer personal service; my dog wasn't even with me as they trying to tell me (sell me) all sorts of blood tests and x-rays without checking his chart that he just had x-rays 2 months ago. In other words, it's more about the money than about the pets. I was devastated. My dog was sick. I took him home. He was actually able to walk out of that dreadful office (which I won't name, but it is in St. Augustine). After going there for nearly 20 years with both my goldens, we will never walk in there again. The next morning my dog was still not well, by the afternoon he got worse. I was hoping to take him to the ER vet, but didn't realize they didn't open until 6pm. I called CareVet about 4:30pm and although they weren't seeing patients anymore that day, they listened to my story and had compassion. Told me to come right in. I wasn't their patient, they never had seen my dog, but they treated me with respect, as if I was with them for a decade. The kindness was overwhelming; I could feel the love as soon as I walked through the door. The vet greeted my dog and realized he was obviously suffering, and immediately could tell what was going on. She suggested an ultra sound to confirm, and sadly, it wasn't the news we wanted, but when the dog you love is in pain, you don't want him suffering either. Then, even though it's after 5pm by now, they waited another 30+ minutes for my daughter to get there to be with me for this difficult time. I can't recommend this office enough, and already have to my friends and neighbors that are fed with the corporate vet offices. It was such a dark time for us, I can't remember all their names in the office, I wish I could, but the entire staff was amazing. To reach out to a stranger and give this love and compassion after-hours is something you don't see a lot anymore. Thank you to the entire CareVet team.
Champagne is my service dog and is a 12 year old Chihuahua. I received a misdiagnosis from two other vets saying it was Pyometra. Which requires surgery. One of the vets tried to talk me into putting her to sleep. I went to Carevets and met wìth Dr. Tina Gore. She spent two hours listening to me, showing me and explaining the xrays and ultrasound views. Her charges were more than reasonable. She did not diagnose Pyometra. Dr. Gore not only saved Champagne from alot of unnessary pain, she saved her life! I will be forever indebted to her. Thank you so much Dr Gore! Dr. Rachell Miranda was the first vet I met. I now know her diagnosis was accurate as well. I called a few times saying the medicine doesn't seem like it's working. The staff would report back the doctor said I need to let the drugs have time to take effect. That was hard for me to do. Watching Champagne's tongue turning to a light gray color. I felt I could lose her. I want to say thank you to Dr. Miranda and staff for putting up with me. The vet technicians and Denise at the front desk are also very caring. I am thankful I have found such a good and honest group of people for my sweet Champagne.
This clinic is absolutely fantastic. We were able to call and get our cat treated within 30 minutes of call. Routine shots, but cats are finicky about being captured to go. All the staff are fantastic and Dr Grove is wonderful. Join this team with your pets. Our cat fell in love with the staff as we did also.
Dr Norma and her team are exceptional, my babies are at ease within minutes and that is no easy task!. The staff are so nice, you feel like family, ty for giving my pups exceptional care.
Dr. Norma is the best vet our family has ever had! She is so kind, caring, and compassionate. She has been our vet since we moved back to town almost 10 years ago, and we won't go anywhere else! The whole staff has taken care of and helped us when we lost our 3 senior fur-family, and now currently takes care of our 4 younger ones ranging between 1.5 years old to 7 years old. The latest episode - our 7 year old cat Patrick Swayze developed diabetes and was on death's door, he is now thriving and back to his old self and gained some weight back. All of our fur-family members love to go in and see everyone in the office. She also doesn't try to gouge your wallet. Her vet techs go above and beyond as well! Robert and Holly, especially, have become like a second family that I trust as much as I trust Dr. Norma. I have way too many good things and experiences to say about how much I value what they do and have done for our family!
