I showed up on a whim as my older Boston needed her nails trimmed by a vet according to Petco as she has multiple spinal injuries. The place was empty and not a good sign, they had immediate availability and convinced me to make do a full office visit for her rather than just fill her pain meds as Vetco was under construction. I was there for over three hours being sold procedure after procedure trying to tell me what is good for my dog when I know her and talked me into putting her back on meds that I knew were making her terribly ill the last time I tried them, I mean not eating tremors vomiting bile diarrhea and terrible dehydration, but when a vet tells you that you are wrong it was something else plus more and more on supposed studies etc for three hours I got pretty convinced but not too convinced unfortunately enough to out her back on meds that make her very sick! A simple nail clip and refill request ended up being well over $100 and pressure to schedule more tests X-rays and more blood work for over $500 that I jus Got done by Vetco , said Vetco didnt analyze the records correctly and they were abnormal which they are actually not, just to get Joe blood work, X-rays etc. they didn’t even check she needed a rabies shot and I got notified by Vetco on a couple Days later they just checked what more they could find to charge me more Money and me to pay for unnecessary procedures when she is over 12 years old and doing pretty well for having three spinal injuries I saw for myself on an actual X-ray and explanation by s full vet office without pressure. They didn’t want to see her X-rays. From the west side either they wanted to do more. Well, low and behold; the medicine I told them made her feel extremely sick, the vet started to tell me We were transmitting disease between each other it was worms she may have heart failure cancer everything to scare me including I’ve ten printed out pages when I pressure back on. The techs were completely clueless about any type of veterinary care or procedures. One cornered my dog under my chair and proceeded to cut her nails as I talked to the vet who admittedly “wasn’t watching” and when my dog reacted badly from being cornered in a small space and not properly held with back injuries, it’s common sense, you back any animal or human in a corner they will defend themselves and she didn’t even do that she put up with it for so long before growling which she never does. So now she is on this medication, again, she is not eating, she has terrible tremors 24/7,she has been throwing up and drinking in excess, having accidents in the house, this is ABNORMAL, all of it and her legs are giving out even worse, I have been trying to contact them for a week now to get the meds I told them helped and I needed but they will not respond after I refused paying another office visit. So I went from an $18 quoted nail trim to being pressured to pay over the min $500 for three hours and paying a bill over $100. How completely unethical and inhumane what they suggest and pressure for people who can barely afford their own doctors and pawn on the love for their pets. You can’t hire a tech who can cut nails and hold a small sweet patient dog under a chair in a corner while you try to talk me into more $ and unnecessary procedures that the vet couldn’t even answer how ultimately it would help her. I should check for cancer, and if she did or does, what would you do? She is over 12 so she wants to remove both complete chest plates or whatever she called them to find out more to probably not be able to do anything if it were malignant but cause her net to increase to hire young children to hurt your animal while you stand there and “wasn’t paying attention” to the care of my dog yet was trying to convince me she had in her best interest. Don’t take your pet here. Save your money and go to another place. My poor dog is shaking all day right now and they won’t even answer I just want her pain meds!

I love this place! Everyone there is so sweet and they were all so patient with my frisky rats that refuse to stay still lol. Me and my boys felt very comfortable and well taken care of there. Highly recommend!
Care Pet Animal Hospital is really the Best. They have outstanding Veterinarians and a staff that is truly caring and has your pet’s best interest at hand. Mojo, my Bull Mastiff, (over 130lbs) just loves to go there. Wether it is for health reasons, checkups, or grooming, this is the To-Go-Place here in Saint Johns FL.
I adopted a cat and a couple days later he was sick. I called care pet and they got my in the next day. It took 3x for us to get my sweet Milo feeling better but they did. I saw 3 diff doctors and they did an amazing job with my sweet boy. All the vet techs were so nice to us and wanted the best for sweet Milo. David, and our tech today and the lady at the front counter Kathrine I believe her name was are some of the best. I will be bringing my sweet boy back anytime I need something. Another thing is they called and checked on Milo all the time. Love that they care
We’ve been seeing Dr K and Dr G for years! We’ve had nothing but great experiences with them. They also have the best staff ever! Shout out to the best tech in the biz, Logan.
