The salsa was the best tasting food they served. I ordered al pastor in a burrito bowl. And al paster is supposed to taste of pineapple and spices and be a little spicy. It was bland and gross. The queso was watery and not much flavor. First time trying this place and what a disappointment. Only saw our server 3 times. Had to ask another girl to get boxes and our check. Not impressed with julington creek
Food was delicious, brought home left overs. Service was a little slow for a Monday. It wasn't busy but there was probably 6-7 tables full while we dined. Chips are refilled constantly which was great. Drinks were also topped off every 30 minutes. Staff is cordial and helpful. Our food did take awhile to come out but it was hot. I had the burrito bowl with steak, refried beans, and Spanish rice, so good. Loved the decor. I meant to take more pictures but forgot. Plenty of parking out front but it was a Monday. We'll definitely come back.
Food is fine - same generic American Mexican you'd get anywhere else. We were there on a fairly slow night, though a decent size group (4 adults, 3 kids). Despite being slow, they squeezed us into a 6-top, which would be fine if they did a decent job of clearing the table. Despite asking her to clear some of the plates we were done with, NOTHING was cleared from our table the entire meal. Empty drink glasses, chips baskets, plates - NOTHING. My BIL even politely asked the waitress to clear some stuff, she acknowledged his request (as if she was going to come back to do it), but just brought dessert with nowhere to put it. We ended up making room ourselves by busing our own table and putting everything on the empty table next to us. Service getting two stars because despite not being good at the job, she was really kind and nice. Honestly, I blame it on lack of training/management more than the server herself. We re-ordered the same mediocre drinks, which were not made consistently - the second round of the skinny margaritas had far more soda water in them (and who puts soda water in a margarita, anyway?). In a place with great service, you wouldn't empty your drink, wait to see your server again, then wait again for the drinks to finally show up - a great server will ask if you're ready before you're even done, but that was definitely WAY over her head. The house margarita looks and tastes like they're making them Hi-C Ecto-Cooler, couldn't be much worse unless you're at a fraternity party in the 90s. This place could be an absolute cash-cow for the owners with the right management to hire the right people. It's a great location, decent space, and serving food that's popular around here. But as it stands? Might not last that much longer.
We stopped by in the afternoon after an appointment nearby, excited to try this place since it had pretty decent reviews and the food looked tasty. We were greeted by a nice lady at the front who seated us right away. However, the floor was unbelievably sticky. With just us and another table in the restaurant, it made me wonder why this hadn’t been addressed. I have to admit, it was a bit of a turnoff, especially with such a great atmosphere. The walls were covered in beautiful murals, and there were lots of interesting decor items to admire. Our waitress was prompt and friendly, bringing us chips and salsa right away. We ordered the carne asada fries, a street taco basket, a kids' cheese quesadilla and fries, and a surf and turf quesadilla. They were quick to bring out our child’s meal, which we really appreciated. They didn’t bring our appetizer out early, but that might have been because we ordered everything at once—I’m not sure. The food overall was tasty. My husband ordered two al pastor and one carnitas taco. He didn’t care for the carnitas, but he said the al pastor was amazing and he’d definitely get those again if we go back. The fries were pretty good but didn’t hold up well for leftovers. My surf and turf quesadilla was good, but there were maybe two shrimp in the whole thing—it was mostly steak. Our waitress checked on us frequently and even offered refills to go, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a decent experience, but those sticky floors really dampened the vibe. That said, the place had a chill atmosphere, and we were digging the music.
Great experience! Went with a large party for dinner. Food came out at the same time, hot and fresh! Service was wonderful. Restaurant is brand new and clean! Chips and salsa were great, as was the guac! Large portions.
