I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of communication and accountability from Dr Kapila. I was perscribed a medication without being informed that taking it close to my psychiatric medications would completely neutralize them. This resulted in an almost two month long severe depressive episode (that is still ongoing because my psych meds will take several weeks now to get back in my system fully.) I have had a huge setback in my mental health now and I have been struggling to function a lot more than I should be. It will take a while for me to get back to normal. This could have been avoided entirely with simple communication. Dr Kapila has a full list of my medications, and knew about the interaction, and just didn’t tell me. When I brought this to his attention he deflected the blame straight to the pharmacy. Furthermore, Kapila suggested I stop taking my psychiatric medications and to then just take one at a time. This is an extremely dangerous recommendation. I think he wants to blame my stomach problems all on my mental health because he has no clue whats wrong with me even though I’ve been going to him for almost 10 months. My primary care doctor ordered a bunch of tests Dr Kapila did not even think to order, and I will probably go find a new gastro doctor, because this is ridiculous. Patients with complex conditions deserve a doctor who understands mental illness and prioritizes patient safety. I did not recieve that here. I am so angry and appalled that this happened to me.

My one-star review is solely based on the fact that I had to pay another office visit co-pay to get the results of the procedure that I had done by them. Because paying for the consult and the procedure wasn’t enough, they had to whack me another co-pay to get the results of said procedure. Questioned it in office…they couldn’t care less about my questioning. Called their billing dept…they cared even less and just said that’s just how we do it. Total racket and money grab and pretty shameful in my opinion. This our healthcare system at its finest right here. Just charging people because they can.

Dr was very attentive and took the time to answer my questions. It takes more time since I am non verbal but he had no problem understanding me. Also he admitted when he didn't understand and I appreciate that and i can say things differently for people. I also carry pen and paper just in case but it was easy talking to him . Plus he is really easy on the eyes.😉

The doctor was very professional, and well educated. She explain things in a manner that I could understand clearly. She explained the treatment plan, and the next steps that I should follow for my overall health.
