Blue Wave Dental

This was my first appointment with Blue Wave Dental and I can definitely recommend this office. The staff and Dr. Comerford gave me a feeling of friendliness and confidence. Mackensie(sp?) was most helpful and easy to talk to. All was well explained. I made my next appointment.

We recently transferred our care to Blue Wave Dental, and we are very happy with our decision. I am on a three-month cleaning schedule due to gum issues, and this was already my second visit. I’ve been a loyal patient at two other dental offices in the past and have had extensive dental work done, so I have a good basis for comparison. This office truly stands out. The entire team—doctors, hygienists, and administrative staff—is professional, organized, and attentive. I especially appreciate that cleanings are scheduled well in advance and that there is always a doctor on site. We chose Blue Wave Dental based on a recommendation from my husband’s colleague, who has been a patient here for over 15 years—and now I understand why. We are grateful to have found this office and hope to stay with them for many years.

I do not recommend Blue Wave Dental. Unfortunately, I had two procedures there that resulted in significant problems, and the office did not stand behind the work. The first was a crown placed by Dr. Comerford. It never felt right despite multiple adjustment appointments. It eventually became infected and required a root canal, but I continued to have pain and gum inflammation. After seeking opinions from several dentists and an endodontist, I was told the crown did not appear to fit properly and that replacing it was the best option. The second issue occurred after a filling on a neighboring tooth. My bite immediately felt off, and the dentist who treated me afterward told me the tooth had been over-adjusted. Correcting my bite required months of treatment and adjustments to many of my upper and lower teeth before I could bite comfortably again. When I contacted Blue Wave Dental, I wasn’t asking for a refund. I simply asked if they would submit an adjustment with my insurance so the crown could be eligible for replacement coverage. They declined and told me that because the work had already been completed and I had accepted the risks of the procedure, there was nothing they could do to help. They refused to warranty the crown or offer any other resolution, leaving me to pay for corrective treatment elsewhere. This was a painful, frustrating, and very expensive experience. Based on my experience, I encourage anyone considering treatment here to ask questions, seek a second opinion if something doesn’t feel right, and carefully weigh their options.

Great first experience! Got me in on time and efficiently. Amber was friendly and did a great job showing me the cost before they started. Dr B was great, very kind. It’s clear these are owner-operators who truly care about their customers.
