My husband and I are from out of town, but we love thrifting and had to stop by. Our experience was… interesting. There are lots of cool knickknacks here and some nice clothes. Most things are decently priced. However, there are NO DRESSING ROOMS, so if you aren’t sure it will fit, good luck. Also, the employees are just not very nice at all. Both my husband and I spoke with the woman at the register and she was quite unfriendly. It definitely rubbed us the wrong way, so don’t expect southern hospitality here. However, I will say, your purchase is for a great cause, so I would still recommend the place for that reason alone - just beware of the poor customer service and other customers who seem to simply not see another person standing or walking.
The Betty Griffen Center Thrift Store is a large shop featuring a wide variety of second-hand goods. There are extensive sections of clothing for the whole family, furniture, collectibles, home decor, and more! I was especially impressed with the well-organized and fair-priced book section. Ample parking in a shared lot, friendly service, and all for a noble cause. Highly recommended!
Used to be a great little place to find deals. Everything is overpriced! They have a section of used Christmas trees priced higher than brand new ones. Like Goodwill they have a “ Boutique “ section of clothing all overpriced. And items are up for management scrutiny once you are at the register. “ That’s not part of the sale; This is a different price. This should have been in the boutique. And the price changes based on what the manager’s says the price should be. There has been a shift in this store and it hasn’t been for the better.
I am a frequent shopper and an avid donator to this amazing thrift store. I am also a member of the community. Marsha is wonderful and always greets me with a smile whenever I see her in the store! Love her! Jesus keeps the facility clean and upbeat with the great oldies always on the radio! Such an asset to the community! Thank you for what you do!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen this place clean. In the 10 or so years I’ve shopped here. You’d think for them increasing the prices they could hire someone to clean something. They have raised the prices beyond anything reasonable. The boutique section is a joke, they put clothes you can buy at Walmart in it for more than original value. The NFD thing is genuinely egregious. It’s pure greed. The staff is rude and incredibly unhelpful, well at least 2 members. This place used to be good but now it’s just disgusting and disappointing. I hope They can get new management or a restructure into an actual thrift store. They get the stuff for free, they are supporting a good cause however 90% of the stuff is there the next month and their dumpster is always full of donations. :(
