Beaches Museum

Awesome museum, a number of old buildings. Free admission. Very interesting excursion. Plan to spend at least couple of hours there - it looks small in the map, but that’s just one building of dozen :)

This is not only a museum but also a beautiful art gallery where local artists showcase their work. There is also a small theater where local documentary videos are shown, a gift shop, many historical exhibits, a huge steam engine with its own dedicated building and a small Church and other historic buildings on the grounds. Our tour guide Anita was a pure delight and one the most experienced, well traveled, and erudite docents we've ever encountered. She's a treasure of knowledge and enthusiasm! This place is wonderful and has something for everyone!

I was there for the closing of the Right Whale exhibit and documentary viewing. The reception was lovely and even though they were in the midst of major changes, the ambiance was undisturbed. Another great event.
