Best ER hands down. Front desk to check in is great, every single nurse I’ve come in contact with is great! They are great with my nonverbal, autistic son! Pediatrician Dr. Chima is amazing! We have seen him at our many visits here, he’s great with children and actually listen to parents concerns, and puts you at ease by the end of the visit! Very personable and professional! I always come to this ED over any other location. I’m always just in and out!
This review is for the L&D department. While the rooms are nice and a few of the nurses are nice. I had a terrible experience after giving birth to my son. The pediatrician on call was one of the rudest pediatricians I have ever met. Upon what should have been discharge they tried to keep us there due to my son’s bilirubin levels being barely elevated and not high at all. This was 10:30 in the morning and I had a verified doctors appointment with our own pediatrician at 1:45 to have him checked and for a second opinion that afternoon, but because I didn’t want to do what they wanted, she and the charge nurse mentioned calling CPS on me and threatening me and my husband for wanting to take him to our own doctor who we highly trust and respect. She (the pediatrician) said to me, “Do you hold a medical degree? Cause I am the one with the medical degree. I know what’s best for your child.” We felt like actual prisoners because they wanted to make more money. Of course they kept pushing the whole CPS thing so it would get us to comply even though we are parents to 5 very healthy children and this is our 6th baby. Obviously, we know what we are doing and would NEVER put our baby in harm. We adore our children and take medical things very seriously with all of them. He (our newborn) was going straight to his pediatrician. If he needed to be put under the light we would have absolutely been okay with our doctors second opinion of that and we also wanted to actually be closer to our home in Atlantic Beach instead of 45 minutes away in Fleming Island. (I had to give birth here because it’s where my OB doctor delivered.) PLEASE be very careful when it comes to this hospital for L&D! If you don’t comply with what they want they will throw the CPS card at you! I will never give birth here again nor would I recommend this department to anyone after this experience and since I’ve had this experience I have heard other similar stories from other new parents. This is dangerous behavior from a hospital.
The labor and delivery/OB emergency team are the best this state has to offer, from the moment we walked in they made us feel welcomed and safe. They’ve helped us With anything we asked, they were extremely patient, gentle, Attentive and kind to my Wife and newborn. I could not have hoped for a better atmosphere and care. Huge kudos to you guys and thank you so much for everything you have done and are still doing
Everyone is so nice and helpful. They run like a well oiled machine none of the bumbling around that I've had to go through at other labs. I can't say anything bad about them, also everything there is spotless. Definitely a 10+++!!!
This facility is clean. Seating is comfortable. Check in is easy. Lab techs are caring and gentle. Have visited BMC in Clay County several times and have not waited over 10 minutes to be seen. I usually time my visits between 10:00 - 11:00.
