We just had a unexpected 15 day experience here, we can't thank enough the team of surgeons, specialists, doctors and nurses that took care of our daughter during this time. The professionalism, hospitality and sincerenes was unparalleled from any other experience we have encountered, even during this trying time. The facilities are immaculate and modern. If we ever encounter another medical emergency, I want it to be here at Baptist Jacksonville!!
My experience at this clinic was extremely disappointing. I brought my 14-month-old baby for medical care, and we waited for more than two hours while several patients who arrived after us were seen first. As Latino parents, this made us feel like we were being treated differently because of our ethnicity. No parent should have to sit for hours watching others go ahead of their sick child without any explanation. Every child deserves the same level of care, respect, and attention, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or language. I hope the management reviews what happened and takes this complaint seriously so that no other family has to go through the same experience. Discrimination, or even the appearance of discrimination, has no place in healthcare.
I brought my son here and the team acted swiftly and most importantly, successfully. Their bedside manner was impeccable, the treatment was correct and they treated us like family. It can't be easy working in the ER so it's a testament to this team that they run their operations so smoothly.
In a strange twist of fate, I had to go to the ER while my mom was a patient in the main hospital. When I got to the ER, it was quite chaotic and there were a lot of people waiting so I expected a long day. I was in a lot of pain from a kidney stone and worried about my mom and extremely stressed out. Everyone from check in to check out were unbelievably kind. After waiting a fair bit, I was fast tracked because my symptoms were getting worse. The PA, doctor and especially Jesse were beyond excellent. I have terrible veins and Jesse was so patient and caring while putting the IV in. In addition to being a great nurse, he is an all around great human. The hospital is lucky to have him. I'm very grateful for the care I received.
I have been afraid of hospitals my entire life. I do not like needles or bright fluorescent lights. I came in by myself early in the morning which was terrifying. The check in was easy and when I got emotional and explained how scared I was, every single staff member was kind to me. When I got a room, the lights were dim/half on which made it less intimidating. When I had to get an IV inserted the nurse was gentle with me and got it on the first try. I was consistently checked on and one nurse even came back at the very end one more time to ask me if I was safe and okay and got the doctor again when I had more questions. She treated me like a human. Every test I had to have done was met with gentleness and reassurance. If I ever have to go back to the ER again I will go here. Thank you for your kindness for a woman walking in alone and afraid. It helped.
