Baptist Emergency Center/Wolfson Children hospital

I came at a good time. I was scared to come because of the reviews I saw. My wait time was great I had fallen and I am a diabetic had cuts under my toes. They took real good care of me. Answering all of my concerns and questions. They let me know everything that they were checking and testing for.

My cat scratched me in the face over my lip last Thursday morning. When I saw it, I knew I needed stitches and went to the ER here. This where I met Dr. Okoli and the nurse, Zanny. They took such good care of me. Both of them were outstanding, very caring and I felt safe in their care.

I understand this is an emergency room but it seems that unless you have a dire injury you are not important to the staff in this hospital. The emergency room appears empty and my husband and I have been waiting over an hour to simply have blood work done. The staff doesn’t seem concerned and the fact that we’re charged hundreds of dollars to feel unimportant is very disappointing. Baptist has never been a very good medical system.

My daughter and husband went to ER on September 17 with severe Flu symptoms, they were seen by different doctors , my son in law received good medical care from his doctor with IVS and medication and my daughter that was worse than him with severe asthma and cough , she is asthmatic the doctor that saw her told her they could not do anything because it was a virus and to continue using albuterol inhaler , did not rake X-rays to look into her lungs or anything. She was so upset! me as well when she told me, because the treatment her husband got she did not get it! Today she had to go to St Vincent’s because she was feeling worse and was diagnosed with Pneumonia !!!!!!! Something that could be prevented , if they give her the treatment she needed that day! I will not recommend this ER to anybody they let you die ! I am contacting patient advocate office to file a formal complaint !!! Thank God for St Vincent’s!!!
