Backwater Cat Adventure

If you're on the fence about booking a Backwater Cat Adventure, don't be. It's such a fun way to see and experience Amelia Island. As a family of four, we opted for the 2 1/2 hour Cumberland tour and the time just flew by. Kris was our tour guide, and he was phenomenal. We all found him to be knowledgeable, funny, and just a pleasure to be around. On our trip, we saw dolphins, wild horses, alligators, manatees, and multiple different species of birds. It truly felt like Mother Nature was showing off for us that day. The backwater cat boats are a blast to drive as well—they're quick, easy to maneuver, and the best way to hop around and explore the river and surrounding islands. Following our tour, when we got back to the marina, both of our kids exclaimed that it was the "best day ever!" If that's not a glowing recommendation, I don't know what is. Thanks again, Kris!

We had a GREAT day out on the water with Kris as our guide. The boats were a lot of fun (coming from a Floridian who's been on a lot of boats and jet skis) to drive around and cruise the waterways. Our guide gave a great tutorial on the boats, we were safe and had a blast! We got to see dolphins up close and personal (could have touched them) and wild horses.

It was a great experience and our tour guide was awesome. We saw the wild horses on Cumberland island, stopped to see manatees, dolphins and alligators. He pointed out a lot of wildlife and cool stuff. Very knowledgeable! When looking for a shark tooth he found us one immediately. We highly recommend!

We did the 2.5 tour with Kyle. It was such an amazing experience and Kyle was full of knowledge. Great guy! We had a pod of dolphins come right next to us. Popped over to Cumberland Island and saw some horses from the distance. I highly recommend and definitely worth every penny!
