  Updated: Thank you to Avalon nail spa for their professionalism in reaching out over this matter. Bao was happy to redo my manicure at no charge. I was pleased to learn the salon offered a 10 day guarantee policy for situations such as my own. I’m very pleased with my manicure, thank you Avalon for your professionalism. I visited Avalon a little less than a week ago on 6.14.26. The salon was clean and staff were friendly. I was sat down quite quickly. I requested a gel manicure with French tip polish. Two women worked on my nails, the first woman who prepped my nails had some trouble with her light when curing the base coat and did multiple coats of it. She made a comment that it was behaving strangely but proceeded to add layers on top. She assured me it was okay. She proceeded to add the pink gel for the base of the French tips. After one layer it seemed sheer so I asked for another layer if possible. She responded “no, it will be too much” I simply agreed. She then left to assist with a pedicure. Ivy then completed my nails- adding another layer of pink without me prompting her to She did an amazing job overall and was very detailed in her work. Leaving the salon I was very happy with how they appeared, there was some “flooding” from the multiple coats of base gel but I didn’t think much of it. Unfortunately within only a few days I noticed lifting and chipping on the cuticles. I could understand this with regular nail polish, but with a gel manicure that cost $50 I am a bit disappointed.
