I am deeply disappointed by the level of care and communication my family has received in the ICU. My mother has been transported by ambulance multiple times over the past month, and instead of seeing improvement, her condition has continued to decline. As her family, we have every right to ask questions and understand the care she is receiving. One of the ICU nurses, Sandy, displayed extremely poor bedside manner. Rather than speaking to family members with compassion and respect during one of the most difficult times of our lives, she spoke to us in a condescending manner, as if we were children. Families with loved ones on ventilators deserve empathy, clear communication, and honesty—not to be dismissed or talked down to. Whenever I raised concerns about why my mother's care appeared to be getting worse or asked for straightforward answers, I was met with avoidance instead of transparency. Rather than addressing my concerns, I felt shut out of my mother's care, and security was called instead of someone taking the time to have an honest conversation with us. That response made it appear as though the hospital was more concerned with avoiding accountability than addressing legitimate concerns from a worried family member. No family should be treated this way while watching a loved one fight for their life. I expect this hospital to investigate the conduct of the staff involved, improve communication with patients' families, and ensure that compassion, professionalism, and accountability are part of the care every patient and family receives.
Back in March I was hospitalized for Pancreatitis during my stay I had a rupture bleed in a major artery. I can't thank the Doctors and nurses involved enough for helping me (saved my life) I'd like to recognize them. Kevin Francis first nurse to see and evaluate the situation (Great job and thank you) Brian Harpel the nurse that keep me awake and talking to me during the bad time I was having. Thank you! Robin Weimern first being so kind and helpful after getting stabilized. Thank you! If I hadn't had the team that I had, I don't believe I'd made it! Thank you so much for saving me! Great job! Great experience for the situation I was in! Very knowledgeable and professional!
Ascension scheduled me and my son's new patient appointment for 2 months out. We just moved to the Jacksonville and need a doctor. The doctors office called 1 1/2 months later and 10 days before my appointment to cancel. Now I have to reschedule for another 2 months out. I would recommend you find a real service that can do what they say and find you an accountable doctor. These people are worthless appointment centers, that have no control and don't care about your health, but just their schedule book.
My brother is a Veteran and was suffering from a severe gout attack. Unfortunately the VA is horrible at giving timely health care appointments to their Veterans. Thankfully my brother was able get treated at St. Vincent urgent care. James Walker, APRN, provided my brother outstanding care during his visit! He actively listened to my brother's concerns, answered every question, and assisted us in getting follow up care too! Thank you James for turning my brother's frown upside down!
The doctors in this practice are awesome. Some of the staff Will ( office manager) very rude and condescending. I called in with a concern in reference the tone and questions of the staff. I was basically told he understood her questioning. I told him I did not. But after speaking with him on several occasions I can definitely understand why those under his leadership are rude and unprofessional.
