I am a 100% disabled veteran. I’ve visited this Emergency Department about twelve times, and I have always been treated with professionalism, courtesy, and respect. The medical care during my July 7 visit was excellent, and the ER staff and security personnel were professional and respectful. During this visit, I was told by the CT technologist that a disc with my CT images would be prepared for me at discharge. I routinely provide my ER records and imaging to the VA, and I have always received my CT reports and radiology discs during past visits. When I politely requested my CT report and disc at discharge, I was told they would not be provided, and I did not receive a clear explanation despite trying to understand the process. After I requested to speak with a supervisor, the situation escalated. Hospital security was called at the direction of the discharge nurse. The security guard who responded was professional, courteous, and apologized for the situation before respectfully asking me to leave. I was also informed that if I did not leave, law enforcement would be contacted. I did not use profanity, or threaten anyone, and chose to leave voluntarily to prevent the situation from escalating further. This situation escalated from a simple request for my medical information into a security response and mention of law enforcement, which was disappointing and inconsistent with the professionalism I have always experienced at this facility. As a veteran, I value respectful communication, professionalism, and consistency in patient care. I hope leadership reviews this incident so future patients receive clear information and concerns can be addressed appropriately.
We had an outstanding experience during my daughter’s recent visit to the Emergency Room. From the moment we arrived, we were seen right away with absolutely no wait time, which immediately put us at ease during a stressful situation. The doctor and nursing staff were exceptional—kind, attentive, and genuinely compassionate. They took the time to listen carefully, explain everything clearly, and made sure my daughter felt comfortable and cared for throughout the entire visit. It’s not often you hear of such a smooth and positive ER experience, but this team truly went above and beyond. We are incredibly grateful for the level of care and professionalism we received. Thank you for making a difficult moment so much easier.
I arrived at 8:48 PM with my 2-year-old daughter after she fell and suffered an open wound above her right eyebrow. She was not seen until 11:23 PM—more than three hours later. The receptionist was excellent—professional, kind, and helpful. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the doctors and nurses once we were taken back. There was absolutely no sense of urgency, compassion, or empathy toward a 2-year-old child with an open facial wound. What made the experience even more frustrating was that the emergency department did not appear to be overwhelmed or unusually busy. The doctor who eventually treated my daughter spent most of that time sitting in front of a computer, which made the lack of urgency extremely difficult to understand. And after more than three hours of waiting, the actual treatment took only a few minutes. My daughter had a small cut—less than half an inch long—and all that was ultimately needed was a small adhesive strip and medical skin glue. That was it. We waited for hours with a 2-year-old child for a procedure that took just minutes to complete. I fully understand that emergency departments operate on a triage system and that patients with life-threatening conditions must be seen first. But there is a difference between appropriate triage and leaving a toddler with an open facial wound waiting for more than three hours with virtually no communication, reassurance, or empathy—especially when the department did not appear to be overwhelmed. The amount of time wasted for such a simple and quick treatment was completely unnecessary and incredibly frustrating. I chose this facility because it was close to home. After this experience, I would rather drive farther and take my daughter to an emergency department with better protocols, better communication, and, most importantly, more compassion for their patients.
i got into a car accident last night. i was extremely scared, having a panic attack, and was in a lot of pain. everyone here was so friendly and disarming, it made me feel so much better about everything. cedric was WONDERFUL!! he was so attentive, caring, and helpful. he joked around with my friend and i, it made us feel so comfortable. my only issue was that it took a while for my care to arrive, and i was in a lot of pain, and they weren’t extremely busy. however, i understand that things can take a bit for various reasons, and everyone did their jobs eventually. like i said, everyone was friendly, and i got the care i needed. my stay still gets five stars from me!! i was treated by dr. armstrong, one of the nurses named mike, and one of the male x-ray technicians. there was also a nurse with long brown hair, but i never caught her name. all of them were amazing. ❤️🩹
My experience with Ascension St. Vincent’s ER was excellent. They were very attentive and everyone I met was kind and very helpful. Needing to visit an emergency room is stressful but I was made to feel welcome, comfortable and at ease throughout the entire trip. We were seen very quickly and everything seemed to go very smoothly without much waiting. We were very quickly on our way. Very clean and professional.
