We finally came back to Angie’s, my brother in law introduced this place to us 12 years ago, after craving it for so long we finally came back to Jax and had a nice date there again. The service is great, the subs are as good as we remember.
First timers and will never be back. We ordered Peruvian and it was very greasy along with fries and a chicken tender sub. The chicken tender sub had almost no chicken and the fries came out 5 minutes before our food. They had no seasoning, salt, nothing. Very bland. The drink choices are limited and the tea was sooo sweet it tasted sour. No unsweet available to balance it out. For $42 we expected a lot more with how many people rave about this place.
Today was my first time at Angie’s! The subs were a great size, taste, and price. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for a quick pick-up or for sitting down. Wait times can feel a bit long for a sub, but are still not extremely long. One important note is that there seem to be many “off-menu” subs available. In my case I was aware of the meatball sub (which was off menu). In my order I enjoyed my sub, salad, and sweet tea!
If you're looking for one of the best sandwich shops in Jacksonville Beach, Angie's Subs absolutely deserves a visit. After hearing people rave about it for years, I finally had the chance to stop by, and it definitely lived up to its reputation. On this visit, I ordered the cheesesteak, and I can honestly say it was one of the best cheesesteaks I've ever had. The steak was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. It was piled generously onto fresh bread with just the right amount of melted cheese, creating a sandwich that was filling without being overwhelming. Every bite had great flavor, and you could immediately tell that the ingredients were fresh and prepared with care. It wasn't greasy or heavy like many cheesesteaks can be—just a perfectly balanced, well-made sandwich. The rest of my group ordered the Italian sub, and every single person commented on how delicious it was. They were impressed by the quality of the meats, the freshness of the vegetables, and the overall flavor. The combination of premium ingredients made for a sandwich that tasted fresh from the first bite to the last. It's always a good sign when everyone at the table is happy with their meal, and that was definitely the case during our visit. One thing that really stood out was the bread. Fresh bread can make or break a sandwich, and Angie's clearly understands that. The bread tasted like it had been baked fresh, with a slightly crisp exterior and a soft, chewy interior that perfectly complemented the fillings. It held everything together without becoming soggy, which is exactly what you want in a great sub. Another thing I appreciated was that everything appeared to be made fresh to order. You could tell there was care put into preparing each sandwich instead of simply assembling pre-made ingredients. That attention to detail really comes through in the final product and sets Angie's apart from many chain sandwich shops. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it a great place to stop for lunch after spending time at Jacksonville Beach. The staff worked efficiently, and despite being busy, the food came out promptly. It's easy to understand why this place has become such a local favorite over the years. Value is another area where Angie's Subs shines. The portions are generous, and you leave feeling like you've received an excellent meal for the price. Considering the freshness of the ingredients and the quality of the sandwiches, it's money well spent. It's becoming harder these days to find restaurants that consistently focus on quality, but Angie's Subs does exactly that. Fresh ingredients, fresh bread, generous portions, and sandwiches made with care are a winning combination. Whether you're craving a cheesesteak, an Italian sub, or one of their many other menu offerings, I don't think you'll leave disappointed. Overall, our entire group left impressed. My cheesesteak was outstanding, the Italian subs received glowing reviews from everyone who ordered them, and the freshness of every ingredient was obvious. We had a great experience from start to finish, and this certainly won't be our last visit. If you're in Jacksonville Beach and want an outstanding sandwich, I highly recommend stopping by Angie's Subs. It's easy to see why they've earned such a loyal following. We will definitely be returning, and I look forward to trying even more of their menu on future visits.
Angie's Subs is a Jax Beach institution and it lives up to the hype every single time. The Peruvian sauce alone is worth the trip, and it turns an already great sub into something you'll be thinking about for days. Their sweet tea is legendary around here and pairs perfectly with any sandwich on the menu. The staff is always friendly and the laid back beach vibe makes it easy to hang out on the patio, which is even pet friendly. If you live at the beach or you're just visiting, Angie's needs to be on your list.
