Mimi does my nails and she does an amazing job! My life is busy and I didn’t have time to make it in. Resulting in my set growing out for about 6 weeks and I had no lifting. She does a fire job and I’ve sent my daughter and best friend to her as well. A sweet little lady did my spa pedicure today and I must admit it was the best pedicure I’ve had in my life! The staff is always helpful, polite and always have us laughing. I love getting what I’m paying for. Highly recommend! 💛 Mimi did her thing on my brows as well.
Went in to get my birthday nails, and overall, the salon itself was nice. The staff was friendly enough, the nail area was clean and pleasant, and I also had a great experience with my pedicure. My daughter (4y) got a mani-pedi as well, and her nails turned out super cute and the lady that did them made her experience great! Unfortunately, my experience with my full set wasn’t quite the same. I got short nails, but during the service, I was nicked around my cuticles and underneath my nails about eight or nine times. I understand that little accidents can happen during a nail service, so I didn’t complain at the time, but it happened frequently enough that my fingers were sore for several days afterward. I also felt that the nails were applied much thicker than I expected, especially considering how short I had them. Unfortunately, only four days later, I noticed that every single nail was already lifting at the base by the cuticles. The lifting became pretty significant, and when doing my own hair or my daughter’s hair, the hair would constantly get caught underneath the lifted areas. I ended up removing the set about a week after having them done because the lifting was so bad. Which sucks because the artwork was beautiful and I got many compliments on them. I’m not sure if the quality or attention to detail was affected by the 20% new-customer discount, but I was disappointed with how quickly the set started lifting. Side note: I work in an office so I don’t really do anything crazy to cause them to lift the way they did. I would likely return for a pedicure, and my daughter’s mani-pedi experience was great, but unfortunately, I wouldn’t get another full set here based on my experience, especially not at $70 (pre- new customer discount).
I decided to come to Angels Nail & Lashes to get my nails done. I usually go to a different salon in southside but since I live on west side, I’ve been looking for something closer to me. I had dip on my nails that I wanted removed and redone with a gel polish. Sam ended up doing my gel manicure and he did such a good job! He was really nice and made sure he did my nails exactly how I liked them which was a plus! He kept checking in and asked throughout the service if everything was okay. I really appreciate that. I highly recommend and I will be coming here now instead of my other salon. Also, you get 20% off if you are a new customer which was great because I didn’t know that and wasn’t expecting it. Sam also gave me a little bottle of cuticle oil which was really nice and smells so good!
Absolute disaster of a business, first and last time unless Leslie has her own practice outside of this place. I feel awful for the sweet technician, Leslie, they called in towards the end of our service because she was extremely sweet and I suspect has a lot more skill than the rest of the staff here. Came into the salon, which is pretty and updated with new chairs and what not. Showed the woman what nails my 7 year old daughter wanted, very simple design, nothing crazy. Stripes on one nail dots on one nail, solid for the others. I’ll add photos of what was requested vs the end result AFTER a redo. Same woman who checked us in started on my fill and daughter sat down for her toes, my fill was fine, pretty sloppy polish application but whatever, I’ve come to not expect much from these places. Daughters toes get finished and we switch, me to pedicure chair and her to nails. When the woman put the paraffin wax on me she didn’t cool it in the water first or rub around in their hands she just stuck my foot directly into blazing hot wax, left a large burn on the top of my foot causing me to scream out. It was awful. I soldier on without cussing anyone out. My daughter then finishes and walks over to me and I ask to see her nails. I swear I looked up and looked around because I thought I was being punked. The absolute SLOP that this woman put on my kid was nothing short of a joke, and absolutely nothing even remotely close to the photo I showed when we walked in. They put some hot pink color on top of the blue for some sort of strange design that looked more like she was having a medical emergency while applying polish. I called the woman over and informed her that it wasn’t what we asked for, she says the lady didn’t tell her that we had requested a photo for inspo. Okay, even with a miscommunication, the fact that she clear coated my daughter with the monstrosity that she did and sent her on her way like “yup that’ll do” was mind blowing. I was in the middle of my nails but I’m kicking myself for not taking a photo of it before I had them redo. And the end result of her nails is still not what was requested. At that point I was just over it, Leslie stepped in to finish the horrible job they started but it was too late at that point, I had already made up in my mind we wouldn’t be returning. And to top it all off, it cost more than any salon we’ve ever been to. For what has to be the absolute worst salon experience I’ve ever had. Photos are of what was requested vs what was received. Not sure why they decided to do even more designers instead of WHAT WAS PICTURED AND ASKED FOR.
The nail tech I originally wanted to go to had an emergency, and I hadnt had my nails done in 2 years. Girrrlll I was desperate. I looked up a nail place near me that accepted walk ins and sure enough, I got sat down right away! Henry was the one who did my nails and lemme tell you it was fantaaastic. He was super nice and polite, kept making sure my nails looked okay to me throughout the process. Not to mention the price??? $77 not including tip, I was so surprised, I thought it was going to be more! It was affordable, fast, and done with quality in mind. I have a punch card now too! Thank you so much Henry and Angel nails staff! I DEF will be coming back again!!!
