She has changed over the years and not for the better. She had a problem with me advocating for myself. She doesn't really treat the patient but will send them to a specialist in a minute. You end up having more of a relationship with the specialist she referred you to then her. When she start losing more patients she probably do better, I hope. Not good for me.

Dr. Perera is a compassionate physician who really and truly cares about you when you are healthy or under the weather. She is truly a blessing to the community. My husband has seen her for over 20 years and I for 10 years. That alone says something. I'm a nurse so I look for quality healthcare. She is not in and out like most doctors offices. She takes her time, discusses everything with you in your own understanding. She knows you by name. She is very knowledgeable in most areas of medicine.

I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Dr. Perera. My college-aged daughter was looking for a new physician since it was very difficult to ever get an appointment with an actual doctor at her lifelong pediatrician's office. She had a little bit of nervousness about the process. The waiting room was bustling with activity but it took us less than 15 minutes to get the paperwork filled out and to be called back. Upon entering the room, Dr. Perera took the time to talk to my daughter about who she is, ask where she goes to college, what she's studying etc. She did not seem to be in any kind of rush which was not typical of our experiences at busy doctors offices. It was a wonderful change of pace. Her gentle and thorough bedside manner made my daughter instantly at ease. My entire family will be switching over to her practice due to the wonderful experience that we had. Thank you Dr. Perera for remembering that you are in the business of helping people not churning out numbers!
