Don’t! I have spent 10 months and thousands (thousands) of dollars to correct the problems caused by taking my truck to this garage. I have never encountered a situation like this with what is supposed to be a reputable mechanic shop. After getting a tune up last August, my vehicle performance has steadily declined. They didn’t reconnect the plenum box, leaving a huge gap at the bottom allowing unfiltered dirt and air to pass through my intake system. This resulted in having to replace the MAF sensor, all four O2 sensors (twice). Finally after finding that problem, the truck ran slightly better. It would still bog down and lose power on acceleration. After taking it to a real mechanic shop, they found mismatched spark plugs and coil packs, 2 of the coils were bad. I did not get a complete tune up. I was told after the tune up was complete that the “mechanic” that did the work wasn’t as good as he should have been, resulting in another mechanic having to finish the job. This was told to me by the staff, it’s not speculation. So here I am sitting on nearly $10,000 in repairs the fix the “tune up” I received from automatic transmission. Plus what I paid them for a terrible job. The photos are the last 2 O2 sensors I replaced before finding the plenum box disconnected. They are less than 2 weeks old.
Had a great experience with American Transmission for warranty work on my fleet vehicle. Tim at the front desk was professional and helpful from the moment I arrived, and Patrick, the transmission mechanic, did an excellent job. I brought my work truck in at 8:30 AM and was back on the road before 11:00 AM. They made sure everything was running smoothly before I left the shop. Fast, professional service and great communication throughout the process. Definitely a 5-star experience.
I’m going to keep it simple. Customer service: above and beyond. They brought my jeep back to life, and most importantly like I mentioned before customer service is top tier. They gave me military discount, most places do not offer that. I’m more than happy with the job and quality of service. They rebuilt my transmission few years ago and this time rebuilt and maintenance my engine! I highly recommend to bring your vehicle to get serviced or maintenance done!
I took my truck to American Transmission because I thought I had a major transmission issue and worried it was going to be very expensive to repair. To my surprise it was a plug to my fan. I couldn't believe how honest they were and the price was unbelievably reasonable. Finally nice to find some honest mechanics. I will be a customer for life and recommend to everyone I know.
This place is despicable! Do not, repeat, do not bring your vehicle here. I got my car towed here, called and asked for them to diagnose it, they agreed. THEY NEVER ONCE CALLED BACK!! NOT ONE TIME! No update or information given about my vehicle. So the 4th day of trying to get ahold of someone there and still no info on my vehicle, I went up there to pick it up (it was still drivable) because I couldn't wait any longer and needed it fixed as soon as possible since this is my only transportation to and from work. When I got there, they had the nerve to try and give me a bill! I told them that I shouldn't be given a bill but an explanation or an apology would be nice considering they hoarded my car for 4 days with zero diagnosis. The goofball at the desk that can't talk ran and got the old man that runs the place and he had the audacity to barge back in the office with an attitude like Macho Man saying " Just to let you know, we did some work to your car already and so you should be billed.." I snapped on his old ash,after that, I sure did and told him that I, not him, but I was the one that should be mad here! They wasted my time, never even looked at my car, and still couldn't tell me right now what was wrong with it. The car hadn't moved positions the whole time it was there yet they thought they could give me a bill for zero diagnosis or work done? Garbage ash business. I looked and they aren't even registered with BBB...now I know why. Jokers! They didn't get a dime out of me, old man was livid, told me just to leave and was yelling at a customer that HE screwed over which makes no sense..he needs to retire. But yes...sketchy place and scam artist crap...save your time and stay away!
