I'm not sure what she has going on in her life right now but this entire experience has been an absolute mess. Poor communication for months to the point I missed out on photos of my twins as newborns and didn't receive my labor photos until 4 months later. My planed home birth turned into a hospital c section and per Amanda's contract she does a fresh 48 when the babies come home. This did not happen. I tried multiple times for months to contact Amanda for photos. After 4 months went by I asked for breastfeeding photos which she agreed to then ghosted me for exactly 30 days. It wasn't until someone in a FB photographer group posted about my situation did she decide to message me and schedule the photo shoot. By this time I had already contacted my bank for a refund ended up stopping that because she finally sent me my photos and scheduled a shoot. However she is now refusing to do the photo shoot of the girls or give me a partial refund even though I provided her with proof of the settled dispute. Her customer service is extremely poor and compassion lacking. She didn't contact me for months and feels no remorse for depriving me of the opportunity of documenting my girls as newborns. A service I paid for per her contact. And instead of correcting her mistakes she's complaining that I filed a dispute. A dispute I provided proof was settled. Update: Amanda never did the photo shoot of my twins nor did she issue a partial refund for the missed opportunity and services not rendered. I ended up having to redial a dispute through the bank for the partial refund. I would avoid working with Amanda.
Yes i marked "good quality" but she has great quality! I have worked with Amanda quite a few times and she was the only photographer I would go to. It broke my heart when she left San Diego. She has amazing quality photos. I first hired her when I was looking for a maternity shoot and birth pictures. The maternity pictures are stunning and the moment I told her it was Baby time she was up at the hospital with us for 10hrs. She had zero sleep before hand. (I called her at around 2am) when my husband had to leave to check on our oldest child she was there for me at my hardest moments giving me so much strength to get through my labor. To say she is amazing isn't enough. She is worth every penny.
tl;dr Amanda did not show up for our sons 1st birthday party in March and has been playing games about refunding our money. Unreliable, unresponsive, unprofessional Back in March (2023) my wife contracted Amanda to take candid photos at our only child's 1st birthday party. When she first reached out to Amanda we didn't hear back for weeks but Amanda said she had some kind of accident with her kids and was sorry for the delay. Maybe that should've been a clue for us. Cut to an hour before our party, Amanda says she has fallen and has to got to the hospital. She asked if she would like us to find someone else. At that point we are too busy to go back and forth with her trying to get someone else out. We understand that accidents happen but come on, have a replacement for us before you even let us know that you aren't coming. So we didn't have the photographer for our son's first birthday and thats something you don't get back. I'm irritated just recalling it, very unprofessional. Since that day we've been trying to get a refund for our money and Amanda said she was going to do it but then we don't hear from her or see any refund. My wife keeps "checking in" with her and this last time she said she could try either zelle or cash app. Wife says either is fine and Amanda is just stalling telling us zelle is better, asking what email, what phone number, then ghosting us. I would steer clear of this person, I'm not even sure those other positive reviews are real. I really dislike being ripped off and I imagine you do as well.
I found some of Amanda’s birth photographs on Facebook and was INSTANTLY drawn to her. The photos were amazing but I was also in awe of the compassion and love she shared when telling the birth story of her having to support a mom because COVID 19 only allowed for one person to be in the room. She truly cared about the mom and baby. I added her on Facebook and am so happy I did-I love seeing her candid shots as well as portraits! If I lived closer I would 100% choose to book her!
