Stayed one night with my wife and 3-year-old. The hotel has potential — room was clean, and I appreciated the on-site EV charger (though $0.37/kWh is steep for Level 2). A few issues: the property is starting to feel outdated, and the pool towels are in poor shape and need refreshing. The room was clean but noisy at night — you hear every hallway door, and the HVAC has no continuous-fan option, so there's no white noise to mask it. Biggest frustration: the evening staff kindly gave us a 2 PM late checkout so our toddler could nap, but the morning shift wouldn't honor it and called to kick us out. Waking my daughter.

Michael Waldrop at the front desk is what exceptional hospitality looks like. My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Aloft Jacksonville for two nights, and what started as a truck driver trip turned into a mini couples vacation and Michael played a HUGE part in making it an experience we will genuinely never forget. We were traveling in a big ass diesel truck, and before we even arrived, Michael was already helping us figure out how we were going to manage parking. Once we arrived, he didn’t just point us in a direction and send us on our way. He personally escorted us outside, literally ran through the parking lot, directed us around the property, and found the best and most adequate parking spot for our truck. He made something that could have been stressful completely effortless. But Michael didn’t stop there. Throughout our entire two-night stay, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, comfortable, and genuinely taken care of. We asked for recommendations for restaurants and nightlife, and this man literally racked his brain trying to think of every good spot he knew. We ended up going to two of his recommendations, and both were fantastic. What really stood out was that his hospitality never felt forced or like he was simply doing his job. It felt like we were talking to someone who actually wanted us to have a great experience in Jacksonville. And just when we thought he had already done enough, after we expressed our appreciation, Michael surprised us by topping us off with complimentary breakfast and drinks from the bar. At that point, we were honestly speechless. I’ve stayed at high-end hotels where I’ve received good service, but I can honestly say I’ve rarely experienced hospitality this genuine. Michael gave us that perfect combination of moderate luxury and a home away from home feeling l, the kind of environment where you feel safe, comfortable, welcomed, and actually cared for. Michael, if you ever happen to read this: thank you. You didn’t just do your job. You took ownership of our experience and made two strangers feel like valued guests. Your effort, personality, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Aloft Jacksonville is lucky to have you. And to management: PLEASE recognize Michael Waldron. Employees who create this kind of experience are exactly the people a hospitality brand should be proud to have representing them. He deserves to know that his effort made a lasting impression. We came to Jacksonville with a big diesel truck and plans for a quick trip. We left with great memories, two great restaurant/nightlife experiences, and a story about the incredible front desk associate who went completely out of his way to make sure we had a good time. Thank you, Michael. You made our stay remarkable—and honestly, unforgettable.
I literally saved this hotel to my favorites in Google Maps. Check in at 11pm after 5 hours of driving was seemless. We were offered a first floor room just steps away from a nice lawn for our two small pups to use both of which stayed free. Room was perfectly set up and bed was very comfortable. Right next to a Starbucks and sushi place for the stop on our way back from the lake. What’s not to love?!
Our last-minute booking turned out to be a wonderful experience. Sam made check-in quick and easy, and they helped us find items we needed on short notice. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were shower-only, which is something we always look for. Although we didn’t have time to enjoy the bar or pool, we look forward to returning in the future. This place will be our top choice when we visit Jacksonville again.
I usually don't leave hotel reviews, but Aloft Jacksonville absolutely deserves one! The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, and they truly made all the difference. The hotel was quiet, very clean, and comfortable. The rooms are spacious, the pool is great, and the breakfast options, both to-go and made-to-order, were such a nice bonus. The location is also perfect and close to everything. I would absolutely stay here again next time I'm in the area!
