This place is terrific! I have visited dozens upon dozens of condo's/rentals along the northeast coast of Florida over the past 10 years and have yet to find a rental community as well maintained as this one. The agents for the rental friendly and accommodating ready for me when I arrived and the building manager Reggie Davis was one of the most helpful and friendly people I have ever met! Reggie personally showed me where to park as soon as I arrived and gave me a cart to unload and carry up my items to avoid several trips back and forth. I ran into Reggie later that night he was scouring the parking lot with a flashlight helping a couple that were their on vacation who had lost their keys. Great views, very well organized and really great people!
We rented a condo for two weeks and were very disappointed. The condo was badly in need of a refresh. The oven door would not stay closed. We couldn't cook in it. The walls were horrible scuffed and had holes in them and the doors. This unit looks as though it had been through hundreds of red-neck tenants. We were locked out at 11:30 at night because we forgot the key when we went out to put something in the car. The building door needs a code rather than a card. Manager was dictatorial and there were a lot of uneccessary rules in place for two 50-something adults vacationing at what we thought was a high end building. The gates to the beach were broken causing us to go around to public access and needing a gate clicker as well as the building card and condo key to potentially lose on the beach. It was a not a relaxing vacation. There was no beach feel to this place. It was more of a prison than what we are used to. We will not stay here again. The garage code never worked and we were awakened early on our last day and fussed at for plugging in our Tesla after two weeks of staying there. Apparently EV's have blown the fuse in the past. Tesla's are designed to use standard household plugs. The manager knew what car we drove. If it was a problem for the substandard electrical system, then we should have been told when we arrived. It is perfect if you are looking for the illusion of security (any one can walk in under the gates) and lots of rules to live with. I imagine the rules are to prevent abuse, but to tell us that we cannot ride our bikes from the garage to the gate is ridiculous. We are not kids doing stunts. I had to find that sign hiding in the dark garage, literally behind another sign. I had to really look hard for it. But with so many signs, it was hard to read them all in just two weeks. Control freaks controlling the residents but not the beach bums everywhere.
In 2010 I was involuntarily recalled by the military to serve in Jacksonville for a year. While looking for a place to live, I had a friend recommend Acquilus Condo's on Jacksonville Beach. From the day I arrived, I was treated warmly by residents as well as the property manager Reggie Davis. I have been here ever since. I have signed up for my third year. The premisses are always neatly kept and maintained. Mr. Davis continually works on improving the living conditions and rectifies situations promptly. In the past two years, he has been a phone call away. The location is walking distance from Jacksonville Beach restaurants and shops. The pier is located four blocks away and allows for a nice walk or fishing experience. I would highly recommend Acquilus Condo's to friends, family and travelers coming to the Jacksonville Beach Area.
One of the best maintained buildings at the beach. Association on site representative Reggie Davis makes sure this building is always in tip top shape. This is a well run and well built building.
Not for short term rentals. Great building. Best management. Nice view. Condo building is not meant for short term rentals. Management is not there to take care of short term renters.
