On vacation and needed a quick 3 minute chain fix. The other bicycle shop up the street told me to drop it off for 2 to 3 days which was the duration of my beach vacation. Took it to A1A and they had me fixed in minutes. Didn’t even have to take bike out of truck, fixed in parking lot. Awesome service and super cool people.
Small place seemed well organized. Staff was really friendly. There was a guy in the back working on a bike so they also must serve bikes. They do a lot of beach rentals. They also have electric bikes.
If you're in the area and not sure which bike shop to choose- THIS IS YOUR ANSWER! After taking by bike to another local shop which wanted to charge me a crazy amount buy and install a new wheel (which I knew I didn't need), I took it to A1A Cycle Works for a second opinion. The owner took a detailed look at the issue and resolved the problem for me, charging a very reasonable amount. A1A Cycle will be the only local shop I use to service my bike and recommend to others. This is a REAL bike shop, not just a store that sells bikes.
Second year in a row renting a bike while vacationing in Crescent Beach. Friendly service and atmosphere. Helped me with a flat tire too on the spot and at no extra charge.
I am a 40 year cyclist and this is far away the best bike shop I have ever dealt with. They are friendly, honest and very skilled bicycle mechanics. If they can’t fix it, it probably can’t be fixed. A bonus at A1A is they not only sell brand bikes, a young man that works there , Jack, can custom build a bike for you. I just picked up mine today. He did I a great job and I love it.
