First, I was not informed ahead of time that I would need a clearance letter from my OB because I am pregnant. It would have been helpful to know this before arriving, especially since I had already filled out paperwork stating that I am pregnant. It seems that information was either overlooked or not reviewed until I was already in the office ( you could obv see I am pregnant if I wasn’t showing they would have overlooked this. ) Thankfully, I was able to quickly get a letter from my OB outlining what dental treatment is considered safe during pregnancy. As most healthcare providers know, keeping your mouth and gums healthy during pregnancy is extremely important.. Unfortunately, my appointment became more disappointing from there. I recently moved to Jaxs and had to switch dental insurance. This office was one of the few accepting new patients and had availability within two weeks, which I appreciated. Despite the bad reviews. I also have dental records from my previous dentist showing consistent care, including a prior deep cleaning followed by regular cleanings every six months for the last three years. Apparently, that history doesn’t matter. The dentist informed me he would not perform a standard cleaning without first taking X-rays. As a high-risk pregnant patient already receiving frequent medical imaging, I expressed concern about adding unnecessary radiation exposure, especially when I have recent dental records available. Rather than discussing reasonable alternatives, I was told “ I have a dental degree and you don’t. “ After leaving, I contacted other dental offices and was told that given my circumstances X-rays are not always required before a routine cleaning, particularly when recent dental records are available and there are no current dental complaints. I was told come back when you aren’t pregnant LOL Pregnant patients deserve compassionate care, clear communication before appointments, and respectful discussion of their health concerns—not pressure, dismissiveness, or unnecessary upselling.
I came in as a first-time patient with DentaQuest insurance for X-rays & some fillings. They were able to complete five fillings the same day, all covered by my insurance. I did have to pay $195 for a deep cleaning, but I think some of the reviews complaining about that should take into account that many of us—including myself—haven’t been getting regular cleanings. If you haven’t been to the dentist in a while, sometimes a deep cleaning really is necessary. I’ll definitely be coming back to finish the rest of my fillings, get a partial, & eventually have a bridge done for a gap. I was also really happy to find out that a tooth I thought I was going to lose because of a failed root canal can actually be saved with a crown! Overall, I’m very happy with my first visit. They were able to get a lot done in one appointment & explained what I needed going forward.
Today was my first visit at this office I was greeted as soon as I walked through the door handed my new client paper work and then I was escorter to the radiology room to have my xrays done then placer in a exam room Dr arrived promptly reveiwed my filmsband examined my mouth and teeth stating exactly what he was seeing! When he wad done his techincain quickly prepared my estimate and went over it with me throughly let me ask questions and then offeree to start on all the work i need done! Definetly will recommend them very fast professional! Thank you to the wonderful Dr and staff!
ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS — STAY AWAY I went to this dental office specifically for a deep cleaning, and what happened was absolutely ridiculous. Instead of simply providing the cleaning I came in for, I was told that I needed to fix several different teeth first and pay around $4,000 before they would even do the deep cleaning. Of course, they conveniently mentioned that they had payment plans. My teeth were apparently fine enough for me to walk in there, but suddenly I supposedly needed one treatment after another after another. This felt less like dental care and more like a sales pitch to get me to spend thousands of dollars. I am extremely angry and disappointed. They knew exactly why I made the appointment — I went there for a deep cleaning, not to be pressured into paying thousands of dollars for additional procedures. And if they are billing government-sponsored dental insurance for services, I honestly believe their billing and practices should be looked into. Patients should not feel pressured into unnecessary treatment just because their insurance is involved. What a frustrating and dishonest experience. I will NEVER go back to this office, and I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any expensive treatment they recommend.
My special needs son had a wonderful visit. The dentist were and hygienist were excellent, patient, and caring. I saw the other reviews and was hesitant but after our visit I recommend trying them for yourself. The wait time was normal and they talked through everything with me and my 24 year old. The office was clean and the artwork was very cool. They have stuffed animals and things to help calm a child and did not make me feel over bearing for wanting to stay with him during the visit.
