I purchased one pallet of bahia sod for delivery from Scott at A-1 Sod of Jacksonville. He assured me that the sod was cut on Sunday for Monday delivery and did warn me that bahia sod was notorious for falling apart and being difficult to lay. Delivery was on time but the pallet of sod I received was a complete pile of crap that had obviously been cut weeks before. The top two layers were dry and dead. Under that the layers were primarily dirt with a little grass and weeds growing between them making it impossible to separate. When I got to the bottom I could not get the pieces of the pallet and found the roots had grown around the pallet. I had to turn the pallet on edge and shake it to get them free. I have lived in Florida my whole life and been using bahia sod for 40 years. This is the worst I have ever seen. Most suppliers would have given this away with a warning that it was essentially fill material. This company lied to me about the product being sold. I would definitely recommend you look for other companies that are more concerned with the quality of their product and customer satisfaction before buying from A-1 Sod of Jacksonville.

I bought just 3 pieces of sod, which turned out to be nearly dead. When I called, all they could say was, "You approved of it by picking it up." I suspect they will have to dispose of the whole pallet, but they sure got my $9 for nothing.
A1 Sod was recommended to me by my Lawn Service company. The experience with A1 was great. They answered questions quickly, took my order over the phone and delivered a pallet with in 24 hours. The sod was top quality, not a piece was wasted nor did I see any weeds. Definately deserving of my 5 Star review and a good value for the price. I'll be doing business with them again.
The Sod they delivered was less than ideal looking. I’d say half dead. These pics were taken 5 minutes after being dropped off. I am watering it like heck but it’s not looking good so far.
Very happy with the sod and my experience dealing with A-1 Sod. Purchased 3 pallets recently. Delivery guy gave me some good tips on installing and keeping my sod alive. Water is key, so don't skimp on it. I originally emailed then my 2 pallet order, but later decided to add one more pallet to my order. When I emailed back, I never got a res Again, water often. My sod came worm free and I haven't had any issues since receiving it. You can return the pallets and receive your $6/pallet deposit. Again, very happy with my purchase from A-1.
