Avoid 1st Choice Movers: Unprofessional, Double the Cost, and Broken Promises Save yourself time, money, and headache by hiring a different company. I chose 1st Choice Movers because they offered affordable rates and explicitly promised to disassemble furniture and dismount/remount my TVs. I called front desk representative Brandy at least three times to verify the TV service. She confirmed it every single time, promised to document it on my file, and took a room-by-room inventory to ensure the crew sent the right truck. On move day, the crew failed on every level. Despite having everything packed, labeled, and staged near the front door to speed up the process, the movers took four hours just to load the truck. Then they dropped a bomb: they refused to touch the TVs. When I called the office, Brandy claimed the crew consisted of independent contractors and suddenly changed her story. She promised a manager would call me back, but an hour passed without a word. When I called back, she snapped, "I contacted management, what else do you want me to do?" She refused to give me the manager's number, promised to reach out again, and then began screening my calls. I had to use a friend's phone just to reach her. When she answered, she spoke over me and acted extremely rude, all while my TVs remained stuck at my old house. Management eventually stepped in, but the damage was already done: Hidden Delays and Cost: The crew claimed I had more items than my inventory listed, took two separate trips, and even stopped for a meal break on the second run. Doubled Price: A local move that should have taken four hours stretched to eight hours, doubling my original quote. Incomplete and Damaged Work: The exhausted crew left plastic wrap on my washer, dryer, and dresser. They put my bed frame together incorrectly, leaving a dangerous gap between the sideboard and footboard that risks stripping the threads. Litter Left Behind: The movers dumped their dirty shoe booties right by my front door, leaving trash to blow across my yard. Manager Caleb finally called me later that day, apologized for Brandy's behavior, and came out the following day to resolve the TV situation. I appreciate Caleb's effort to fix the damage, which is the only reason this review gets two stars instead of one. However, Caleb's quick fix cannot make up for Brandy's rudeness, a doubled bill, broken furniture, and an eight-hour nightmare. Look elsewhere for your move

Greg and Davon were tremendous in helping us with our move from Jacksonville to St. Johns this weekend. They were great communicators, kind, courteous, timely, and incredibly hardworking. They handled our belongings with care and were very intentional throughout the entire process, truly going above and beyond to help ease our stress!! Caleb was also wonderful in coordinating our booking. He was extremely communicative and helpful from start to finish. Would highly recommend their services. The actual move itself went very well. The movers arrived on time, were polite, friendly, relatable, and did a good job handling my belongings. I had no complaints about the quality of the move itself. Unfortunately, my experience changed completely at the end of the move. Earlier in the day, the lead mover told me he had taken off a charge for some boxes, which I initially told him I appreciated. However, once it became clear that I was not leaving a tip, the interaction became very uncomfortable. The lead mover repeatedly questioned why I wasn’t tipping, told me it was “crazy” that I wasn’t leaving a tip after they did a good job, and compared it to going to a restaurant and not tipping a waitress. We went back and forth about it several times because I explained that while I appreciated the work they did, a tip is optional and should not be demanded from a customer. At that point, I even told him I would pay for the boxes that had been used, which I did, because I wanted to de-escalate the situation and make sure there was no feeling that I owed them something because that charge had initially been removed. The conversation continued to the point that the other mover eventually had to tell him it was time for them to go. I understand everyone has things going on in their personal lives, and I don’t want to take away from the fact that these guys actually did a good job moving me. That’s what makes this so disappointing. Had the move simply ended after I paid what I owed, I would have had a positive experience. A tip is supposed to be voluntary. A customer should never feel pressured, guilted, or argued with because they choose not to leave one. What should have been a good moving experience ended with me feeling extremely uncomfortable. Good moving service, but the way the situation regarding a tip was handled at the end was very unprofessional and really changed my impression of the experience.

I would highly recommend Bill and Jalen for your moving needs. They did an excellent job packing my entire home for a move across State lines. They were prompt, courteous and explained every detail and addressed every question I had. They made sure to take special care of precious items being moved and worked from morning to night to keep our move on schedule. Would highly recommend them for any of your moving needs.
